In Halo 5 when playing co-op, you could pick which character you were playing as. And most people at first thought this was mainly going to affect what weapons you had available at your disposal. However, there were other subtle details that made each character unique.

Spartan John-S117’s unique attributes are increased melee damage and faster shield and health regeneration rates. - Spartan Kelly-S087’s unique attributes are increased movement and reload speed and faster shield and health regeneration. - Spartan Frederic-S104’s unique attributes are faster shield and health regeneration and the ability to carry an extra frag grenade. - Spartan Linda-S058’s unique attributes are the ability to have her motion tracker still visible while in smart-scope, increased range for her motion tracker and faster health and shield regeneration. - Spartan Locke’s unique attributes are a faster thruster pack recharge, slower stabilizer descent and the ability to carry one extra frag grenade. - Spartan Buck’s unique attributes are a faster thruster pack recharge, slower stabilizer descent and increased melee damage. - Spartan Vale’s unique attributes are a faster thruster pack recharge, slower stabilizer descent, and faster movement speed. - Spartan Tanaka’s unique attributes are a faster thruster pack recharge, slower stabilizer descent, the ability to have her motion tracker still visible when in smart-scope, and an increased range to said tracker.These attributes feel somewhat lacking as they are just minor buffs to the characters. Why not give them something a bit more?

Using the Artemis should allow for him to highlight enemy targets through walls similar to Promethean Vision. Doesn’t affect cloaked enemies. - Decreased cooldown of Thrusters Recharge. - Increased damage and quicker ready for a Spartan Charge. - Carries extra grenades. - Built-In Speed Boost Module allows him to move faster for a brief period.BUCK

VISR can be activated to see cloaked targets and brighten up darker locations. - Jump height is increased to allow for higher climbs. - Hovering is longer and more stable. - Ground Pound charges faster, hits harder, and has 1.5x more range in its Area-Of-Effect. - Built-In Damage Boost module allows for more damage to be dealt for a brief period before requiring a recharge.VALE

Increased mobility speed due to her lighter weight armor. - Increased weapon swap & reload speeds. - Thruster boosts are increased to allow for her to jump across wider gaps. - Carries more Ammo than the other characters. - Built-In Active Camo module allows her to be a great flanker and further ties in her Sangheilian specializations. Plus her Active Camo doesn’t distort while moving, only while shooting.TANAKA

The Artemis will have an EMP effect, disrupting enemy vehicles, causing a temporary decay of enemy shields, disrupting enemy active camo, and stunning Prometheans for a brief moment. - Increased Radar Range and the ability to keep radar while scoped. - Energy Weapons now take half the amount of ammo-per-shot and overheat slower. - *Built-In Overshield Module allows her to take more hits for a brief period.*Anyone think Halo 5 would’ve been more interesting with the 8 playable characters being given this level of differences to allow them to feel more unique and to have a bit more of a team-play dynamic when playing co-op. Even while playing solo the A.I. characters being able to use their abilities on command or at will would’ve been interesting.
