Started Halo 5 Campaign last night and everything worked great. There was an update today and since I haven’t been able to progress. Game crashes to dashboard if I die or game tries to load. I tried saving into a new save slot but no luck. Also game automatically crashes if I select “Continue” from campaign menu. I have to select a save slot for it to load. I can finish that mission but game crashes after or if I die during mission, game crashes.
Try this. Seems yet ANOTHER bug in an update:

I had the same issue, try starting a new game. Once I did that I did not experience the problem.
We’ve been looking into issues surrounding Saved Games and Checkpoints in Campaign that can end a player’s session and bring them to the Xbox One Dashboard. This issue can be resolved by restarting the mission from the beginning.

Hey what about this one…it says I have played the Campaign for 898 days 22 hours. Which obviously I have not. How do I make it read the actual time I have played?

guys a restarted misson pre download and its working ok. so what ever mission you were on before download they restart it n your sorted. job done
I am having the same problem. Near the end of the Enemy Lines level in solo Legendary. Restarting the level from scratch will take a lot of time. Please patch!!! This stems from the update that was just released. Players shouldn’t need to start a level over again for an issue that was caused by somethings totally out of our control.
I too have that same problem. Playing on Legendary level on The Breaking Mission. Every time I die it takes me back to the XBO Dashboard page and Halo Guardians appears on the main window. I also noticed that when it does this, my Blue-Ray drive starts to zoom loudly for about 30 seconds before it calms down. Did not have this problem until today. Someone else in the forum stated that it may be due to a recent update. So what’s the solution going to be since I do not want to have to restart the level again.

I agree… and I must say I didn’t enjoy the Enemy Lines chapter. I’m pretty sure I was right near the end of the chapter. Now a Resume always crashes to XBox desktop. In encountered this yesterday and it’s the same today. Oh well, there is FO4 and Battlefront.

Yep, right there with you. I’m stuck on Enemy Lines on Legendary as well. I’ve played the big map part right before the Kraken like 7-8 times all the way through and every time I die I have to do it all over again. Now my save won’t even load. The solution is to seriously start over? This level is a PITA… is there any hope of it being fixed? I’ll just play something else in the mean time. I’m already grumpy enough with my “team’s” pitiful AI. I’ve had Vale jump right into one of my fuel rod rounds at point blank range killing us both and they’ve let me die literally feet away while they just stand there. And you can forget driving around in a Ghost… I can’t even move around without running them over. Can’t say I’m impressed.
same bug made me quit halo4 mmc, please don’t let this one ruin the halo 5 campaign for me. I did restart the mission again and it didn’t help so here i am back in mgs5
i reinstalled the game,and the mission from the begining, but i got “saving…error” , i finished the mission but no achievement won, and today all the progress is gone

I tried doing this by loading a saved game prior to the update and now this saved file is doing the same thing.
Mine is crashing every time loading a resume but doesn’t always crash when I load a saved checkpoint. It’s intermittent. Sometimes hard booting the XBOX seems to make it work, sometimes not. Crazy bug… frustrating.
Any way to back out this update? I work in IT and if we do an update that causes unforeseen consequences, we back it out… seems like 343 should do the same thing. Back it out, figure it out in simulation, then re-apply the update.
Y’all need to do better rev management in my opinion… but I’m just another ant in this ant farm.
Still cant resume play 3 days after the Halo 5 update. 343 is a joke when it comes to customer service. It would be nice if they would post updates as to what they are doing to fix this problem
