I will update as I continue. My list is point out things I’ve noticed and would like to hear from others in the community. I do not want this to be about Multiplayer or Party Chat because there are other forums for such cases. Please let me know what you’ve found. Thank you.
Campaign Score not showing: This is annoying. When I start/resume/respawn I have a chance of losing my scoreboard (medal flashers and points still visible and the score overall is still being tallied properly, just without a visual of the overall score
Halo CE/Halo 2 Vehicle Score Value: I cannot speak for Halo 4, but previous games, upon killing an enemy vehicle and its occupants such as a Ghost, would receive a Double Kill and an overall higher score for the kill. This wasn’t an issue with Halo CE until after an update. So you spent all that ammo/time to kill the Wraith, you’ll get the score value of the Elite piloting it.
Halo 2 AI/Suicide Scoring: At least in Halo: Reach if you damaged an enemy or vehicle and either an AI (friendly or not) made the final shot or the wounded enemy somehow killed themselves (assisted suicide) you would receive the standard points for killing that particular enemy. In Halo 2 it seems as if that’s not the case, as you are rewarded nothing for your efforts.
Halo 2 Ghost Betrayal: When playing as the Arbiter, if you destroy an unmanned Ghost (particularly if the occupant has been ejected or has exited) you will be deducted points for “betraying” the Ghost. Best example: Grab a tank in Quarantine Zone and shoot the heck out of the Flood occupied Ghosts with Scoring enabled.
Halo 2 Sentinel Beam: My nitpick with the Sentinel Beam, precisely the “Major Sentinel Beam” is that in classic, it was identified by its gold casing and firing its blue beam. The remastered version only is identifiable when firing, as it shares the same remastered texture as the standard Sentinel Beam.
Halo 2 Par Time: After the most recent update, the majority of the campaigns’ par scores were dropped. I understand this except for the severe drop on Halo 2. Some missions have been reduced to a third of what they were, some even lower than that. With only 7000 score required, I could get that on Normal with maybe a skull or two (Masterblaster and Jacked) without any effort. Players who already went through and got the Halo 2 par time chieves by playing Heroic with 5-8 skulls or legendary with 2-4 skulls probably feel cheated. Raise them to a reasonable difficulty; like a range of 15,000 to 25,000. Maybe a 10k minimum.
Halo 4 Custom Game Options: This isn’t a bug. And it’s something that may come at a later date, but Halo 4 doesn’t really have a large variety of Game modes to choose from, and editing them yourself doesn’t allow you to do much. For an example, there are no Team Snipers in the MCC Halo 4, and I wanted to play a Halo 4 Snipers game with a friend (Binary Rifle) because he never played Halo 4. But even after attempting to alter the options, I could not create a game mode anything like Team Snipers.
Theater Mode and File Share: Theater mode is one of my favorite things in all games, spawning from Halo: Reach. And I’m sad to see it as a whole dying due to the Upload Studio and DVR Clips, because while the new options are undoubtedly useful, they don’t compare to what players loved about Theater Mode. And it makes me happy to see a theater mode implemented into the Master Chief Collection, it doesn’t please me, that it is directly linked to the Xbox One DVR/Upload studio, which has a max time limit of 5 minutes and a max number of clips you can save. Have an epic Halo session, you can now only save 5 minutes of that session. Machinima creators know what I’m talking about. And the lack of a File Share, Forge seems just a bit out of place without an option to upload your game mode or custom map to the world. I liked searching for interesting, creative and well thought out game modes and elaborate, time-consuming, and tedious custom maps like UpstairsBroom’s creations from Halo 4. And while some form of Sharing is implemented into the MCC, without a method of searching the community inspired creations, it just seems to be missing an essential part.
Halo CE/Halo 2 LASO Skulls: The recent update gave the LASO playlists all the original (and true Legendary All Skulls On ploy) skulls, adding skulls like Iron, Boom, and Grunt Funeral to the Halo CE playlist. But they left out the Bandana skull. I know why they did, but they added Bandana to Halo CEA, and it had no adverse effects on scoring. Yes it cancels out other skulls, but so does Blind in Halo 2, 3 and 4 with the Fog/Cloud Skull. True LASO should include Bandana because it was one of the skulls in CEA and shouldn’t be discredited because it makes LASO “slightly” easier. In Halo 2, LASO included the Envy skull (and it shouldn’t have a multiplier of 0 anyway because it was used by Legendary Speed Runners such as Monopoli, and is not as OP as the Bandana and Scarab Skulls). This is just a nitpick for consistency.
Halo 3 Par Time Nameplate (Silver Halo 3) Not Unlocking: I have clearly beaten par time on all Halo 3 missions, but I never unlocked the Silver Halo 3 nameplate though I unlocked the achievement.
Halo 3 Custom Map Title/Description: The custom map title and description are definitely bugged for Halo 3. The tile will only display a certain number of characters, and will only save that particular number. This might just be a limitation to the Halo 3’s display. But the custom description can add random characters to the end of the text, resulting in the text appearing to have bee added via external means.
Done! Unlocking… (Again): Okay, this was a problem early on, but now these occasionally pop up, but are then sorted out in 24 hours. During the whole “holiday hack” (as I call it), whether it be Lizard Squad or not, left several achievements in a state of “Done! Unlocking…” which have yet to be dealt with. (Mine being “Orpheus”)
(Is it possible to see a way to bring the Flood Juggernaut enemy into existence, 343? It was cut from the original Halo 2, but was still shipped and left in the coding. So is it possible to bring to life this old enemy into the anniversary in some manner?)
