Campaign add-on dlc?

I know it’s a bit early for this kind of speculation but what are peoples thoughts on extra campaign dlc? Maybe for other characters we will meet during Halo 4. I think it would be pretty interesting to have mini campaigns giving more background for people master chief may meet during the game, particularly if he meets up with other spartans. I know some people have speculated as to whether Fred and Kelly may be on this shield world, I would love to see some dlc showing what they may have been getting up to. Thoughts?

Maybe like this you buy an DLC called enemypack and then you can play as the enemy in halo 4

So in a way you suggest something like ODST (which to be honest was more like an expansion to H2 than to H3 in terms of story, setting and relevancy) being released, and not as a full prized game (which it wasn’t over here in Europe by the way) but as DLC for instance?

While I’m not sure if 343i would consider it, I think XBLA as a platform is proving to be more and more capable of handling and offering such things.
Just look at the recent Alan Wake’s American Nightmare for instance. Stand alone, yet tied with the main game (and hopefully soon a series!) and in terms of technical quality hardly inferior to its big disk based brother.

So in a way, as a concept I could see this work. If it really should/will happen…I really don’t know.

I do think it might be a better thing to do than to release another “in between Halo” between H4 and H5 (unless it’s Halo Wars 2). Giving us a relatively small side story campaign add on would also keep that part of H4 fresh for a while in the 2-3 years between H4 and 5. And it would cost you less, plus wouldn’t be advertized as a new game.
So who knows?

Using XBLA would be a cool way to add extra campaign content and yes, something along the lines of ODST was what I had in mind.

It would be great to have new content to keep Halo 4 going until Halo 5 without 343i needing to do a full game release. I personally would love to have back stories for any interesting characters delivered in a playable form.

It would be cool to have. But it never really has happened. I mean ODST was a cool sidespin but it wasnt worth the money and it was just to throw people a bone in case they were bored.

But like i said, it would be appreciated.

Maybe this could happen, 343 isnt like Bungie, so they could try different things.

No offense, but I find this rather stupid.

No offense taken, I just sometimes think that in the past dlc has been purely multiplayer map packs and as several people have said you rarely got to play on those maps.

How about some dlc for those of us who play more campaign than multiplayer?

Campaign DLC wouldn’t work with Halo. The only time campaign dlc really works is with rpgs.

> No offense, but I find this rather stupid.

Not if you can transition between the two.

I disagree, say for example master chief meets Fred on this shield world and their story plays out however it will. Now imagine after finishing Halo 4 we get the option of finding out how Fred came to be on the shield world and what strange new enemies he encountered via a payable mini campaign finishing up just before he meets the chief.

Obviously I’m just speculating on storyline details here but give the idea a chance, I can’t be the only one who craves something a little more substantial than a few maps every now and again.

I’m always a fan of campaign DLC. Sign me up for yes!

I loved RAAM’s Shadow in Gears, why not one for Halo too!

As long as the mini campaigns don’t diminish the value of the original campaign.

> I loved RAAM’s Shadow in Gears, why not one for Halo too!

I don’t think RAAM’s Shadow would work in Halo 4. A lot of fans would probably be confused as to why the Chief was fighting Locust.

lol, jk
