Came to a sad realization today.

Busted my first Xbone controller out of frustration with the Latency issues and this apparent “placebo aiming effect” that has come over the community lately.

I have played virtually everyday since launch and have had some really fun games and some really crappy ones. This escalation has made me realize I need a break and take time to relax from the grind/sweaty lobbies and come back when more social/fun playlists are available.

If you are a regular forumite that enjoys my weekly video threads I do apologize and will get back to posting as soon as I feel i am ready to get back into the game.

Ive played pretty consistently since launch myself. If I didn’t take breaks, my brain would have exploded by now. The game is insanely frustrating at times, though from my personal experience, its just the players. A lot of the people I get paired with (and I KNOW this sounds like an ego thing but my stats per game don’t lie) on my teams just suck. I end up usually near the top of the leaderboards for each game and I’m consistently going positive. Now I have my bad games as does everyone. Though I have many more games where I got 26/15 in warzone with 3 boss kills and usually a legendary boss kill and I still just cant pull the win out because my team just doesn’t know how to play properly. Its infuriating watching people one at a time rush the fortress that’s enemy controlled.

Trust me, a break here and there is definitely what you need. Fallout 4 is great for some down time.

This is why I take naps. Play responsibly guys!

If I’ve been playing for an extended amount of time, I get really frustrated and every single little thing such as a death really annoys me. Take a break and then come back to it!

This made me LOL for real.

I could play Star Wars Battlefront or Battlefield 4 for an entire day and not lose interest.

I could play Halo 5 for one match and cuss and swear at 343 then never touch it for a week.

Scientist have actually discovered life outside of Halo. It turns out to be really fun out there.

I’m kinda the opposite as OP. I’m a bit burnt out on it and find myself not really playing with effort. Just kinda going through the motions. I’m probably one of your horrible team mates haha. Oddly enough arena can be easier since all you have to do is kill the enemy more than they kill you. Slayer doesn’t necessarily require a lot of thought. Run with a partner and shoot/react. In warzone, playing for the win requires planning and effort. Gotta time your reqs so that you have the right weapon for the right boss when he spawns, cap the base, defend the base, and so on. I’m bored with it. Probably why I’ve lost 5 warzone matches in a row. Break time for me as well. I love the game, better to take a few days off than grow to hate it.

thanks for the responses guys haha i half expected hate mail but i really appreciate knowing i am not the only one frustrated or losing controllers :stuck_out_tongue:

I went through like, 4 controllers from Halo 3. Had to learn to mellow out because I couldn’t afford to replace things promptly if I broke them.

I can do that if you want but…

What kind of controller did you break? I hope it wasn’t an Elite.

I had this issue too… But it turned out to be the horrible Scuf controller I was playing with. The elite controller is just amazing though.

I do agree… Sometimes this game frustrates me to no end. Especially today when the lag is horrible. I swear, I was cursing at my monitor. I was on a dang frenzy with zero deaths… Then all of a sudden lag. Total bs.

I don’t get why people. Real stuff when they’re mad, you always regret it later.

stock. i dont see the hype/benefit of using another and honestly believe anything “modded” shouldnt be allowed in tourney play (but thats another conversation)

Responsible gamers have games that help them vent anger.
I like to turn on Smash for my WiiU when I get frustrated with Halo and carve Pacman into diced cheese with Lucina, or vaporize him with Pikachu.

Remember, always have game that you can chill out with.

…growing up we had a friend like you…even though he didn’t own an xbox we forced him to buy his own controller. STOP GRABING THE SNIPER AND JUMPING AROUND MID FIELD! Sry, that was not about you…just a flashback from overly angry gamer friends

This

I’m surprised I haven’t broken a controller yet with Halo 5s super duper competitiveness.
