I feel worse that you tricked me into opening a video by Extra Credits than I would if this was just another thread flaming constantly.
Well, I’m fine with some armor being in the store. But we should have enough unlockable by default (or at least if we bought the campaign) so customization doesn’t feel wanting. We don’t necessarily need the “coolest” stuff to be unlockable, but enough so you can make your Spartan feel unique day 1. Which by the way, they promised us, even in the first Insider Infinite, they promised tons of customization unlockable for free, day one.
I also think coatings are fine to sell, but they should be crosscore. Selling us the same coating multiple times is insulting. Also, we should still have color options. At the very least they could handle coatings how Halo 5 did. You remember that Halo 5 essentially had coatings right? There were different textures and patterns on armor, but you could still choose your colors.
We should also not have lost emblem customization. Some emblems can be sold in stores, but we should still be able to choose emblem colors. That was one of the main ways to customize your Spartan in Halo 2. There was no need to remove it. Also, don’t sell us the same emblem multiple times. It’s one emblem.
Other than that, go wild. It would probably be nice if we had some armor effects unlockable, but I’m not super concerned. That still gives them a lot to sell to use. Really, I’m not against monetization. I just don’t think they should have stripped away customization features Halo has had for over a decade. CoD didn’t strip out customization features when it added a store, and Halo didn’t need to either. And 343 even admitted they knew these choices wouldn’t make people happy, well, I think that’s terrible decision making. Above all else you want the players happy, otherwise how are you going to sustain the game for “10 years”?
They simply just need to get their content and pricing structure up to a reasonable standard…and that includes the BP content (which will now have free credits from S2). There is arguably more customisable content in Halo Infinite than COD…but that literally depends on their creativity which appears to be greatly lacking at the moment. It would also help if the store UI was significantly improved. It’s almost as if there hasn’t been a lot of thought and process put in to many aspects of this game.
R.I.P. modern warfare. Played that game for a year straight! Ten times better than this debacle
Absolutely. That game was truly excellent and carried me through the pandemic, but the way Activision disrespected their own highly successful game for the sake of the inferior Cold War was a disgrace. Hopefully MW2 will set new standards yet again so I hope it’s not rushed out the door like most games are lately.
