Camapign Theater Mode

Do you guys think Campaign theater mode in halo 5. It was sorely missing on Halo 4’s Campaign and Spartan Ops, which was horrible for there was many Areas or fights, also gliches, I would have love to take photos of that I could not do other wise.

I haven’t heard any new if they fixed this for Halo 5 or is it still going to be MP only like in 4

(Still really wished they patched it in for Halo 4, even just for MCC I would be Happy)

Campaign theatre would be nice, but I can capture most of my campaign goodness with the Xbox DVR so I’m not too upset about it.

But you will only get the Angle from your perspective.

What happens is something happened with your friend’s perspective and you missed it

What about of you wanted to watch something cool from a different angles.

What happens when something happens so fast and so far away that you DVR on picks up a quick motion and you can tell what it was. But you know it was something funny.

What if a grunt was saying a funny line but the DVR doesn’t pick up right because your shield alarm was blaring.

All these things theater mode can solve

Campaign theatre MUST return! The lack of theatre mode in H4 campaign was really disturbing. Back in 2010/11 with Reach i had a lot of fun recording funny moments in Reach’s campaign!

Campaign theatre always made Fails of the Weak feel so much nicer.

I would indeed like to see a return of this feature.

Campaign theater would be great

343 was SUPER lazy with the theater mode for Halo 4’s campaign.

> All these things theater mode can solve. Yes, but not having campaign theatre isn’t the end of the world because the Xbox DVR has the ability to pick up most of the stuff you’d want to record anyway. It would be nice to have for sure, but I don’t think it’s necessary because we do have a video capture system, even if it isn’t as thorough.

**Replies in bold.**My point is that it’s nowhere near as big of a deal as it would be if there wasn’t a game DVR.

Theater for campaign was always pretty fun, me and my brother used to go back see what marines/ ODSTs would live the longest back during halo 3. I’m all for it.

agreed with OP, 343 should have never removed that feature.

I would need to search for but i think 343 said theater mode for campaign won’t be at launch.

I am at work so it’s gonna be a while before I can find the source.

Found it

Halo 5 may not have theater mode for campaign again. Hopefully they get it working even if it’s post-launch.

I think they said it’s not in there from a vidoc or blog, I remember seeing it

343i chose graphics and frame rate over theatre and split screen in Halo 4. The story will be the same in Halo 5.

Classic features aren’t a priority for them, so they get mistreated until they break and are abandoned completely.

If I wasn’t the type of guy who thought 343i was a lazy, community apathetic developer, who didn’t deserve my money, I would be after watching that.

But see. You and I have different needs. Me, I need it for Research for Halo mods on PC

http://theronnett.imgur.com/

This is my album. There are Hundreds of pictures I have taken for Research for The Arma 3 mod Operation Trebuchet And the hardest games by far to take photos is Halo CE, 2, and 4. Especially covenant sense they are starting to design covenant for the Mod. Is I can’t get great angles of them in action or just milling around while they are shooting me.

So for guy like me. DVR will not cut it. Period

They seem to have put a lot of effort into multiplayer theater, one can hope they do the same for campaign.

Splitscreen was in all parts of Halo 4 except maybe Spartan Ops.

And if you read the description you’ll see an actual statement from 343:

UPDATE I have received an email from Jessica Shea, the Community Manager at 343i and she responded with this:

Hi, Timothy. Thanks for the email and sharing your thoughts.

First, I’d like to apologize that you feel like we lied about this. Earlier this year, we explicitly stated this feature was not being added to the game. You can see one of the tweets I made about that here:

https://twitter.com/bsangel/status/29…

You’ll notice I didn’t say it wasn’t possible, because it is (as is nearly everything, to be honest). This was simply a case of us not having time to completely polish this feature to an acceptable shippable state. If you read the notes about this mod, you’ll notice several bugs with it. Post-launch, we were hoping to have the bandwidth and resources to finish this feature, but unfortunately that didn’t come to fruition.

In a perfect world, we’d be able to complete all the features the community wants. Time is a finite resource, though, and sometimes hard decisions have to be made. Some people won’t always agree with our prioritization (I suspect you don’t with this one in particular), but we always do the best we can, with the resources, tech and time we have available.

*Hope this clarifies things a bit, and thanks again for reaching out. The fact that you cared enough to do that is appreciated. :)*Jessica
