Callouts mean nothing to lower ranks

So some lower ranks wanted to party up with me and i was like eh sure why not. It was a gold , a plat and i think another play or maybe a diamond i dont remember in the fireteam. I noticed the constant pushing and rushing right off the bat and i was like woah.
I pushed to help them and they crouch in a corner leaving me in a 2v1. The gold on the team kept saying “save me the sniper” like who says that. He wanted the sniper whenever it came up and if i picked it up he was like let me get the sniper. I was like umm hey man i think an onyx 1900 can sniper just as good as a gold 4.
I wasn’t even mad it was just interesting to play with them

I have a hard time knowing area names. I wish the radar had a north so people could use n, s, w, e call outs. Using weapon locations and a persons x too.

Most people I hear doing call outs are never in English so I never get a chance to even learn it over time.

I think as a random too many people group up that do commands so I think it’s difficult for lower players to even get the chance to learn.

When it comes to the sniper it’s the one weapon the higher ranked should have dibs on.

For real… Call outs don’t mean a thing if no one uses a mic though!

I’m not the best at callouts, but I know when to not go rushing in guns blazing…

Some people play with a different mindset. I’m Gold/Plat. No amount of callouts or coordination will make me champ, ever. Honestly I’d rather run around in a group and talk about whatever than listen to the frantic chatter I hear watching HCS pro teams. So I agree with you, callouts don’t mean as much to lower ranks because we don’t always take the game that seriously, and don’t really have to skill to progress much even if we did take it seriously.

I don’t have a mic and im trying to get one because seriously it helps a lot, and im actually trying to get better (failing miserably) but i’ve heard people breathing or whatever and don’t callout -Yoink-, why? but the “OH BOY YOU GRABBED MAH SNIPE?! LETMEHAV SNIPE!” stuff is common… or even they callout like “1 guy up there!” Up where? What?!

Sounds like you play Halo 5: Guardians for a different experience than for what those other people play Halo 5: Guardians for. And you realized this and are befuddled by the idea of someone else fundamentally not valuing the same things that you do. This is an opportunity to grow and change.

Here’s my suggested logical change: hate them and try to hurt them and anyone that reminds you of them. They’re different and it should upset you, because their difference might be contagious. You gotta stamp it out before everyone else in the world is different.

They wanted to rank up and said they wanted to play with good people. The game did match us with people that were pretty good so im not saying anything about the people i partied up with. I have bad games all the time.

How is diamond and platinum a low level rank?

I think a feature for call outs in text would be great.

Like for instance in each map you could have pre set text call outs that you want and have an option to set it in English but also type your own language for your eyes. It would create less of a divide and make call outs more accessible to lower ranked players.

And it would show up in the kill feed when you select it.

Title says lower ranks not low level ranks. All those guys were ranked below him, hence “lower level”.

Yes, call outs and attitudes are much different in different ranks. I also think some players pretend not to care, and don’t put in the effort, then when they don’t rank up or do well the have a reason, “Well, I don’t care really anyway. I just want to have fun.”

Things that have no meaning to low ranks: defence, placement, kill feed

I mean this in mindset, there are people with low rank who do care but lets not ignore that rank is based on win/loss not skill.

Best thing for 343i to do is put in game audio support for fellow soldiers with or without mics. An improved version of AI and MP chatter callouts and a way to point out enemies on the battlefield to mark a target then my spartan says ‘’ enemy approaching West armory’’ Only way for non mic players to communicate is only by pressing up on the D - Pad and pinging your position which helps only if people use it right

As you’ve stated, if you are accustomed to running with a coordinated team of Onyx players and jump in with a few Gold/Plats it’s a completely different experience that requires a different mind set and game play. There are lots of reasons some players never rank up and you’ve heard a few of the conscious reasons here. Two of the unconscious factors you noticed in your games was “constant pushing and rushing right off the bat”, and wanting to be the hero with power weapons. I’m one of those low ranked players and the best piece of advice I’ve ever heard was from Spartan who plays for Liquid when he said, “the best thing you can do to help your team is to make yourself a hard kill.” I usually solo and don’t say much but when I do party up with higher ranks I try to stick with team mates instead of pushing alone, listen to callouts and make whatever helpful callouts I can (not “how did that scrub just kill me again -Yoink!- this game sucks”). I’m very satisfied to get a few shots on an opponent and take cover so my more skilled them mates can finish them. In these situations I usually get the lowest kills, but I’m near the top in assists while at least trying not to contribute too many deaths to the other team. Sure some of those games I will get utterly destroyed and I feel bad, but my team mates know my skill level and are always encouraging.

Onyx and Champs are over rated anyway. Some champs boost their champ and same with some Onyx players.

Personally, I know some callouts on The Rig lol. Other than that, I don’t know any of them. In my brain, callouts push the game too far into the “competitive” category. I like playing for fun and just running around killing people and trying to make wacky stuff happen.

Or when they say On my X … like really? that could be anywhere.

I partied with some Golds and Silvers one time and I’m calling out OS and various other things, and they’re like, “…what’s OS?” :expressionless:

Like come on man, you’ve played Halo for how long now?

This happens all the time.

This would be great. AI’s voice instead of a squeaker calling out, “enemy in blue yard”, when they’re killed…

Every day of life :'v
I say go wherever and they say “Where’s that?”
