I have a question for you. If you are new to this game - what keeps you coming back for more? Is there something that you don’t like and may make you stop playing the game?
I’m looking at ways to help keep everyone engaged and having fun and want to know what you think as a newer player would keep your interest to stay and play even more!

but it’s relevant, if i was a new player just picked up this game not actually knowing what was happening because i didn’t know about Waypoint then i wouldn’t play the game again
I am not a new player but I constantly play hw2 from launch because the gameplay is very fun and there are a lot of leaders, which adds more replayability to multiplayer and terminus firefight and because I am a halo fan. Furthermore, unlocking new blitz cards and leveling up is very satisfying. New players keep playing hw2 because of similar reasons.
I stay involved in this game because I am invested in seeing Colony get teleport added to his wheel. So long as this injustice carries on, I will not give up the fight.
The number one thing has to be more maps…Snow map, urban map, beach map, rain-forest map…no more deserts lol!..this will extend the game’s life immensely.
Im not a new player but I love how much attention you guys pay to updates. The new balance patches go a very long way at keeping the game fresh and exciting. Thanks guys!
I’ve had the game a couple months now, I’m a huge fan of RTS and sadly had no idea halo wars existed!
HW2 has kept me playing anytime i can because it’s better than any rts I’ve ever played, the overall diversity means everything has a counter, I 've never know so many unique leaders to choose from, unit banter! I remember always having to double click a unit to have that lol. This game has a lot going for it and the forums i’ve found extremely useful.
What would drive me away?
lack of something new every now and then, if the devs stopped caring😢, I’d like to see more maps, i’m used to map generators so it would be great to see more.

edit: Oh and the tournaments would be great to see more, I managed to get in to one during the event, got my rear end handed to me but it was good to learn, so please keep that up (i’m not sure who does what between here, DC Longshot and the BtC guys)
I’m new, my friend and I bought the game with the latest sale. And, may I say, we absolutely enjoy Blitz. It’s very action packed, my friend (a long time Starcraft fan) even compared it to SC, at least in terms of how it’s never stale and you always have to do something to stay ahead. The Blitz mode is a very original and, imo, very underestimated type of its own game.
The thing that drives me to come back is that this mode is very suitable for me, as I was never able to play any RTS efficiently in multiplayer, the only time I got close to success was in SC2 (because of my friend obviously), but playing every match in super-concentrated “sweat’n’tears” mode was very exhausting, winning didn’t feel good because of that. But now, my friend has taken a great interest in the game and I think we found an RTS that we can play together.
On the negative side, I’d say I didn’t “feel” the main MP game mode, it felt like more of good old Dawn of War formula.
But in terms of what can be changed for the better, in my opinion, is adding a bit more variety in existing decks: new cards, new effects and new synergies. In a 2v2 match you have the potential to combine 24 cards, but in 1v1 (which I didn’t play because YapYap, I solo queued in 2v2) you note how some deck playstyles are way too predetermined.

Played the campaign first, I actually thought it was very boring and just another generic story. The missions seemed pretty tedious, as in nothing exciting and nothing to grab my attention. I actually don’t see any point in having a campaign for this type of game (strategy), resources would probably be better spent on the multiplayer side of things. For any future titles, I think the campaign would need a overhaul and a different approach to it. Also why the lack of any matchmaking for co-op campaign?
I played an couple of games of Firefight, it didn’t interest me much. it seems rather drawn out and just a bog standard horde/wave mode. Blitz Firefight is better, but it doesn’t have any matchmaking, why? That makes no sense. I also played a couple of games of 3v3 Deathmatch, it was just the usual rush tactic by the enemy team, which has happened since the old days of Command & Conquer. That doesn’t appeal to me anymore (I’m getting older I guess), I use to do that aswell and I can totally see why others do it to, you’re out there to win of course. Therefore I don’t see the point in playing that mode, when I’d rather just play Blitz 2v2 or 3v3 for quick and possible interesting games.
I’ve only been coming back to play Blitz 2v2 or 3v3 just because the games can be interesting with the card system in place. 3v3 was ranked before? But now its showing it isn’t this season, even though it still says ranked on the screen…
I did the 10 rank placement matches today and well, the matchmaking system is just horrible, it paired me up with so many people who obviously had no idea what they were doing. Most of them were much lower levelled than me, most of them seemed liked it was their first time playing. I even took screenshots at the end because I was basically carrying them and I haven’t even played the game that long myself.
Last season I dropped so many ranks/points because of the stupid out of sync error, has this been fixed yet? Will it be fixed if it hasn’t? Because its basically stripping away ranks/points that I’ve earned. I don’t see how that would help entice people to come back and keep playing.
I feel like 5v5 blitz mode would be interesting, I think there’s also potential in the card system to be unlocked yet and they way it can be used in possible different modes.
I honestly have nothing to complain about. Air units were a bit OP but after reading the patch notes of the new update I saw they were buffed a bit, along with the marines which was a good call.
The only thing that aggravates me the slightest is joining a Versus AI match to have a teammate drop out right away.
Maybe make consequences for quitting like in other Halo titles if there already isn’t one?
What keeps me coming back is the adrenaline enducing addictive gameplay.
Everything flows together nicely, I use to play Age of Empire games as a kid and I would often find myself bored waiting to build up my resources and armies.
But with Halo Wars due to the leader powers and scattered resources across the map I always find myself enthralled with completing my next objective whether it be capturing a resource node or flanking a unsuspecting foe, which I think is important for games.
