Call of reach: Modern Spartan 4

<http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2012-03-07-343-confirms-halo-4-is-native-720p>

‎"You, as a player, have the ability to customise all aspects of your Spartan warrior - and not just cosmetically. For the first time in a Halo title, you can actually change gameplay-impacting components. This allows you to customise load outs and gives you gameplay enhancements that can be unlocked through the progression system."

This sounds a lot like Call of Duty. The changing of “game play-impacting components” is basically perks. The customization of “load outs” is basically custom classes. Unlocking “through the progression system” is basically weapon proficiency and perk/weapon unlocks through experience.

Seriously Halo? It’s pretty obvious that you guys have sold out to Call of Duty and have tried to make your game exactly like it so that Call of Duty fans would like it. The reason gamers play Halo over Call of Duty is because of preferred playing styles. Halo had an aspect to its game play that, in my opinion, made it one of the greatest FPS (combined with the compelling story line THE GREATEST FPS EVER). Load outs allow players to start a game with an unfair advantage. It is even seen in Call of Duty: Reach. A player with a jet pack can fly over to the rockets/sniper and fly over to a camping spot. Halo has always been a game where the two teams are even at the start and skill determines who won the game. The winner of a game in Reach was the team with the most players that were willing to lose their dignity and respect by using a jet pack or armor lock. Everyone ranted about the blossom which ruined the game also. The only reason why blossom works in Call of Duty (The actual COD) is because the player can aim down the sights of the weapon which gives them the choice of quick, inaccurate shots or slower, precision shots. In Halo, not every weapon has sights which is why it doesn’t work. You realized the mistake you made when you took out blossom out of some Reach play lists and completely out of Halo 4. So my question is, why would you not take out load outs and ‘perks’ from Halo 4. Those aspects ruined Reach and are about to ruin Halo 4.

It’s funny that this topic even comes up in conversations relating to Halo 4. The fact in itself that this topic comes up is the reason why this game is going to be bad. Halo 3 had no such talk which is why it was an amazing game.

Since you have obviously played the game, how was campaign?

old news pal.

Couldn’t agree with you more

A lot of this -Yoink- has been proven wrong and misunderstood 1000 times by Frankie, Stosh, Bungie, 343, Me, my friends, that guy, the next poster, BS angel, The Italian Mob, The Irish Mob, The Butcher, Bush, Obama, the Covenant and The Flood.

Also lets say this

Custom Loadouts=Saying it’s a COD idea is just making COD look better. Load Outs existed way before Call of Duty was even an idea. Learn your gaming history son.

Also change is good. Modern Warefare 1 (COD4) was not a terrible game, It changed things and added new gameplay elements, some bad, some good, but it changed and that’s why it became so popular. So Halo 4 needs to step up the damn game and beat COD and Gears and whatever else there is. Because classic Halo is not going to do this, No matter how much you WANT to believe it.

May be a sad truth, may be the wrong truth, but it’s the truth.

k go home, seriously
stop with these

> Since you have obviously played the game, how was campaign?

How is this even a valid argument? The reason why i know that there are these things in the game is because 343 said it themselves. i even posted a source for people like you to look at but you obviously didn’t take the time to read it.

what do flowers have to do with halo reach?

> blossom

No but seriously, i hope they aren’t trying to mimick COD.

We get less than 5 minutes of gameplay and then a few vague interviews and you jump to a conclusion like this? Holy -Yoink- people, give it time. You haven’t seen enough, and you sure as hell haven’t played the game yet; so why make so many vapid conclusions?

Yep.F rom what I’ve been hearing and the update from Frankie, we are heading down the Call of Duty road.

Actually it sounds a hell of a lot more like Section 8 but then again that’s not one of your mega-buster fanboy-furies so I don’t see why you’d ever be saying, in a derogatory way, how Halo is like it.

That’s just not how these stupid games work.

go away call of duty is trash like this thread

agreed

> Since you have obviously played the game, how was campaign?

Read the bulletin >.>

Everything is explained there. What are you going on about him not playing the game? He doesn’t have to. They told us. Please, please, don’t make these silly excuses for an argument again. I don’t want to have to respond to a counter-argument that has no sense, no logic behind it, ever again.

I don’t want to have this conversation twice.

> go away call of duty is trash like this thread

yes we know call of duty is trash. and you obviously didnt read the post

Apparently, people don’t need to read posts, 'round these parts.

Just because you know some things about a game doesn’t mean you will know how it plays.

People need to realize that a perk is still a perk. No matter how much 343i tries to spin it.

> Halo 3 had no such talk which is why it was an amazing game.

Why would it? COD at this same time in Halo 3’s development was a WWII FPS with a fanbase and scope that was much more limited to that genre. Plus, as far as I can recall, there wasn’t such an angsty gaming culture back then to so fervently produce that sort of empty comparison because the mindset that leads to this -Yoink- behavior is in part the product of addiction-driving pwn-a-thons which view any sort of self-satisfaction with the same disgust that one would generally reserve to goat vomit. IE. The style of gaming that Halo 3 and COD 4 helped create (because we sure as hell had nothing to do with it in Rainbow Six and PGR.)
