Call of duty wars

Its pretty safe to say that people enjoy halo wars because its still the most balanced, accessible and fun rts on console… Not the halo branding

It would make business sense for Activisition to partner with Robot to make a console rts. Robot can benefit with a hugely successful ip and activision will have very small development costs and very little financial risk.

Robot has consistently shown that’s it’s a great developer and commitment to community- sensible patches for halo wars post release, completed 90% of aoe online, orcs must die looks great and I’m addicted to hero academy on iPhone.

The key to a great rts is balance and creativity and robot has shown this since it opened. Games they have developed so far has shown this, so even if a new rts game is made you can guarantee that it’ll be good.

Can’t believe how good hero academy is…

You do know Robot is no more right?

> You do know Robot is no more right?

Their website disagrees

Call of Duty Wars? No, just no. Some things just don’t mix. CoD as a MMORPG or RTS? Lolno.

Robot should make Halo Wars 2.

> Robot should make Halo Wars 2.

Agreed, of course

Call of Duty (the game that is almost single handedly killing the game industry) just needs to die off. I keep up with the sales and as it gets more popular, the sales of all other games go down. Why would OP even post something like this? I am astonished. I am not even joking. This has ruined my day.

I agree with frozen
Because of call of duty’s renown sells most gamers wont even leave it to look for a new game. Almost all gamers believe if its not cod its a bad game
Which is a lie
there are tons of realy fun games out there that deserve to be funned so they become better but because of CoD they dont sale well on console

The title should be changed.

Creativity was not a part of halowars. The entire RTS was basically copied/paste then stamped with the “HALO” title.

But yeah chances are we will see COD or BF expand into the RTS field before Halo Wars 2.

IT’s a war game… How would it not mix? To me this sounds just like you are hating on the COD series.

I’m all for Activision approaching Robot to make a COD RTS - or a console RTS based on anything they want it to be based on.

I love Halo Wars simply because of the unit control and balance. I would be thrilled if it was in the Halo Universe, but I would totally be fore a COD RTS. It would just be ENDWAR with better controls/balance.

I’m not hating on CoD, I enjoy it as well. Some themes just don’t fit certain game styles. Sure, its more than possible, but it just wouldn’t work. Of course, its a CoD game, so it would make millions, but irregardless. You get the point.

Unless it’s something Activision can get one of every year they won’t be interested.

I’ve played most of the COD games, and i find myself getting bored of them very quickly, the last COD game i truly enjoyed was modern warfare 1 because it actually bought a little inovation to FPS games, everything after that has been more or less copy and paste and it’s these quick turn around high profit games that are destroying gaming. Games these days are getting less varied as game developers are reluctant to try anything new and would rather stick to the formula that is garunteed to make money.

So to awnser the question, will it be a profitable venture for the companies concerned? Yes
Will i buy it? No

I will tell you right now I am hating on CoD and Activsion because Activision is killing the game industry and CoD is there #1 tool that they are using to do it. They don’t care that they cost thousands of developers there jobs or anything as long as they get their greedy hands on their billions of dollars each year. I try to do my part buy not buying Activision games new. If I get one, it is used where Activision doesn’t get the money for it. I haven’t bought a new activision game in 3 years.

what is your problem, CoD is a good game. fact. the reason no one likes it any more is because it’s stale, but there isn’t anything better to move on to. you might say halo, but halo is old and stale as well. I’ll agree that activision destroy games by plot screwing or screwing with the game play.

Let me begin. I was hoping I wouldn’t have too. Hang on. Let me copy and paste from another time I had to do this. The only people that I believe would call it a good game is someone who has no idea on how a game is made, not to mention it has some of the worst coding. It is like a 5 year spent his 25 cents of an allowance to make a game.

Activision has shut down several of their companies just to focus more money on advertising CoD. None of that money went to the low budget game itself, it just went to the advertisement. By closing down those companies, they made thousands of developers lose their jobs. Activision buys the copyrights to famous franchises and kills them by making poor excuses of games with that franchise name on it. Two examples of that is Crash Bandicoot and Spyro. Activision bought those over and turned them into a shadow of their former glory. Now they use Spyro as a cash cow to make people buy expensive toys to be able to play the full game which is already $70. Sadly, people actually bought it, and it became the #2 game behind of CoD last year. They also release the exact same CoD game to their blind fanboys year after year, and the games are the exact same except for an extra layer of graphics and just a different story. This shows Activision that they can keep doing it and make money. It also shows other companies they can put no effort into a game and make a lot of money too. As Activision sales go up, other game sales go down. Basically as CoD sales go up, other game sales go down. I keep up with game sales on a week to week basis, and no games sell as much as they used to. Yet CoD sells even more than the year before over and over. If people want the game industry to still be big in 5 years, they need to open their eyes and stop obsessing over Activision products.

This is a very shortened down version of what I have said before. I never argue with opinion. I only argue with facts.

so your angry because a game company is successful, makes a game almost everyone will buy, and advertises it? whats wrong with that?

I included what was wrong with it in the post too.

> I included what was wrong with it in the post too.

I didn’t see anything wrong with what you mentioned.

It’s called success. Activision has it. They may have shut down the game dev studios - but they have created so many more jobs because of it. Activision is spending money to make money and they are doing it quite well. They are the top publisher in the industry right now with EA, UBI, and 2k/Square Enix being up there as well.

I applaud Activision for their accomplishments as they have helped to bring more casual gamers into the pool of gaming. They are a great company that is doing what everyone wishes they could be doing… Making billions every year by rolling out 1 game. Their level of success is what everyone tries to achieve.

I’m sorry you are a hater on them, but they are obviously doing something right! COD has gotten stale, but as new people enter the gaming market - the profits and sales keep going up. Each version keeps outselling the last. I’m happy they are getting more people on the market for games. It doesn’t hurt to have more people with consoles. That means more people might just line up to by South Park when it releases, or pick up Fallout New Vegas, or even Dungeon Siege 3.

I applaud Activision for being so successful, but I wish they would invest in re-branding COD soon as it has gotten extremely stale for me and many of the long time players of the title.
