I just want to point how even it though seems every Halo fan hates on C.o.D nowadays (though I hate C.o.D to) it’s seems that some of the C.o.D bashers arent much better either. It’s seems almost all every time a new change or addition to the gameplay mechanics is made half of the Halo fans are raging over it. They get all angry and say no this can never be implemented, yet they bash C.o.D for never changing. Halo mostly keeps from being a rehash from adding major changes online mp (Halo 2) or Forge (Halo 3), but I’m fairly sure there won’t be many more changes than this Halo 4 and up. So if Halo keeps playing the same it wil be a rehash game like C.o.D. So if you guys keep the same mentality you might as well start playing C.o.D as well because Halo is hedding down the same road of Rehash -Yoink-.

changin the game is fine. there is nothing wrong bout it, but adding something that completely brakes the game is a whole different story. also there will always be complainers, we are human and we have flaws. simple as that
I actually applaud CoD for staying true to the fanbase that got them popular in the first place. Staying the same with a winning formula to appease new and old fans alike is better than changing up a winning formula each release in an attempt to make it “fresh” again IMO. Subtle changes that work with a formula I’m not against. Ones that work against it like AA’s should never appear.
Most of us never said that CoD was just rehashed gameplay. Whoever does Obviously doesn’t know how Call of Duty is supposed to play in the first place, and insist that the game be brought up to their own standards instead of the standards IW set up with Cod4.
It’s exactly the same with Halo. People who insist that keeping the core gameplay intact will just make Halo stale and rehashed. These people, like I said, don’t know how Halo plays, and how any core change or addition to the golden triangle of guns, grenades, and melees will completely change core Halo multiplayer.

Yes but they do very little change as far as gameplay
Halo: CE to Halo 2:Hijacking/Dual Wielding
Halo 2 to Halo 3: Equipment/Detachable turrets
Halo Reach: Armor Abillities/Bloom (not counting assassinations sincethat just a gimmick)
Those arent very big changes (except AAs and equipment). It’s not very different from C.o.D as far as how much they change it. If they just added alot of gameplay mecahnics like hijacking/dual weilding but more than just 2 or 3 I would be satisfied.

Yes but why should I buy the same game repeatably. I appluad Dead Space, Bioshock and The Elder Scrolls, because they can add a whole bunch of things but still stay true to the basic Idea of the game and staying true to the fanbase, yet giving something completley fresh that’s whjat Halo should be like, the game we always loved but with enough added to keep it fresh. That’s why I don’t play games under big publishers anymore because there games are designed for profit not quality, I prefer gam,es by Indie devs like Valve and Bethseda.

oh here’s a good one, halo makes an engine, uses it for a game, then makes another engine for another type of halo game and destroy the old one =D CoD made an engine and started to use the same one over and over =(
The only halo game that hasn’t changed grpahics is halo 3: ODST.

know how it plays. Ther are game like the elder scrolls that change TREMENDOUSLY but still play the same. I know TES is a RPG series but they are how I feel games sequeals should be made, made for quality not profit. That’s why sequels exist mostly, to milk the same already working Idea for money instead of using new ideas. They would have stopped making Halo games ages ago if Microsoft didnt make Bungie make them so they could get easy money.

You don’t make new engines you upgrade one. Halo has used the same engine since CE they just upgraded it. Devs rarely make new engine at all.

You cleary don’t know how an engine works. I would laugh if you were on of the people who think it lets it have better graphics and have more entities on screen. It does that but not only that, it’s the tools to make the game, the Crysis Sandbox Editor is actualy the Cryengiine just designed specifiacly for game modifiaction.

The Elder Scrolls and RPGs in general are a lot more flexible than fps games. RPGs can add a lo of new features and still keep it’s gameplay the same, simply because it doesn’t involve the community tearing the formula apart online. However, fps games are more limited, especially when you let others play against each other competitively online. If you change just a certain aspect of one mechanic or add new features the entire core formula shifts, and you are forced to balance it again. More importantly, it will change up online play massively, and players aren’t too keen on playing a game they think doesn’t feel like the original.
