I am still fond of Reach and wish to continue to play for a while, but the way they are releasing the Reach maps with CEA and the map packs seperately is ridiculous. Why must I make this choice of either paying for the map packs twice or going through the nusance of swapping discs, which WILL separate the community even more cause of the fact that they are technicly two games/discs. CEA can’t play with Reach and Reach can’t play with CEA.
What do I do?
-
Buy CEA and swap out my game disc every time I want to play any other Reach map?
-
Skip CEA any buy map packs alone?
So far, I’m leaning twards NOT buying Anniversary.
Solution: Release Halo CEA in two versions.
The first would be the way they are doing it now. Campaign and Reach maps on disc.
The second version could be strictly CEA campain on disc and have a redeemable code for the map packs.
The third is sell CEA alone, no map packs for $20. For those that don’t want to play Reach and just want the Campaign.
I would really really like to hear directly from 343i on this issue.
I doubt it will be like odst (or like what you described)
CEA will probably have a code inside to download the reach maps from xbl and a disc for campaign and customs on said anniversary maps.
Reach will have the anniversary playlist and can link up with CEA players along with all of the TU settings.

A code comes with the CEA disk to DL the maps. Problem solved.

What do you mean CEA can’t play with Reach? That’s nonsense. The whole multiplayer experience is on the CEA disc just like with ODST. I played Halo 3 multiplayer with my friends who didn’t own ODST through the ODST multiplayer disc all the time, with access to every map and feature, with no problems whatsoever. The only drawback is that you’ll have to pop in the Reach disc if you want to play co-op Reach campaign.
It’s simple: if you want the new maps AND the CEA campaign, buy CEA. If all you care about is Reach, just buy the map pack.
If you have Reach installed you can play the base Reach maps on Anniversary.

CEA will only come with the new map packs. None of the original Reach maps will be on there. They have stated on videos that if they were to add even 1 more map that they world have to release it on two disc and they didn’t want that cause it would increase the price.

Positive?
Install Reach to your hard drive and you can play all the maps with your Anniversary disc. Problem solved.

Have you tried this yourself or work at 343i?
“If you’ve got Reach and you don’t pick up Anniversary – and I don’t know why you’d do that – you can get it as DLC. But if you’ve got Anniversary you’re gonna be able to download it to your drive and that way if you’ve got the Reach disc in you can play the multiplayer on the Anniversary maps as well.”

That wouldn’t work. Installing games doesn’t work that way.
Installing a game on your Xbox just allows it to load faster and play a little better.
