Well, while I am no big fan of 343 in general I will give them credit, I never thought I’d see the population surge as much as it has since WZFF dropped. Halo 5 is back up to #6 in the Xbox Most Played. I would have bet you a million bucks that’d never happen a couple months ago and I’dve been wrong.
Can it continue this surge through the holidays? With big sales and discounts on H5, REQ packs and XB1 H5 bundles, it might be possible.
I guess we will see. … i hope it does regardless if it does or doesn’t I’m a halo fan even if i don’t like a halo… Will play this until the next halo comes out. … although i play other games a little this is where my heart lies.

As popular as it is today? Unlikely. Most games naturally become less popular over time. If Halo 5 was still as popular by the end of its first year as it is today, it would be the first Halo to accomplish this.
It can be done. Depends on the quality of added content. GTA V has been out for three years and is still as popular as ever.

No. With the annual Battlefield and CoD releases, and Gears of War 4 on top of declining interest, the population will not hold steady.
I also think 343 will switch over in the fall to concentrate on Halo Wars 2 and whatever plan is next. Sure there will still be some updates and whatnot for Halo 5, but I honestly think that by the end of August, Halo 5 will see a steady decline in population regardless of game support.

That’s probably true… i was hoping it would continue to run strong at least until the holidays! I think if they continue to add maps for WAR ZONE it might continue to stay close with any new dances that might come out. …

doesnt matter if it was Halo or not, EVERY game has to compete with another game about to be released.
a games popularity is mostly in its community, which i think we have one of the best ones out there. the fact that this discussion is here, says a lot about the game already.
but as stated above, no game is ever as popular as time goes on. just the facts of gaming life.
