I live in France and I want to play the Halo games in the original English language, currently I own the whole series, but French dubbed with no language options. French is fine, except that a lot of the more obscure dialogue is absent, for example IWHBYD and easter eggs like the Red vs Blue cameos in Spartan Ops, and of course the voice acting is of a lower quality overall. They also lack celebrity voice actors, such as Nathan Fillion in ODST and Conan O’Brien in Halo 4.
I can buy them from the UK, I can actually get the whole series from CE to 4 used on Amazon.co.uk for €30, which is amazing, however I’m not 100% sure they will work on a French Xbox 360. Is Britain in the same region as the rest of Europe? If I use a British game disk with my saves or installs, will there be conflicts? For example if I have the French language version of Halo 4 installed on my hard drive, and I try to play from an English language disk, will I break space-time? Will it be recognized as a different game with different save files? What are the more technical details of this?

Unfortunately the Xbox 360 is region locked, North American games will not work on European or Japanese consoles and vice versa, however I’m not sure if the UK is in the same region as the rest of Europe and if playing the games on a French console will cause conflicts.
Hmm let me do some research because I really want to say that the Halo games are NOT region locked. Not 100% on that but if that’s the case, I can help you out with some US copies mailed from within the EU if you’d like.
Cool, that would be awesome, but unfortunately it doesn’t depend on individual games, the consoles themselves are region-locked and will only play games authorized for their region. What I’m really trying to find out is if the UK is in Europe’s region, or the same region as the US and Canada, and what kind of conflicts I might see with things like save files, map packs, installs etc if I already own versions in another language.
I live in the UK and I can confirm that PAL and NTSC Titles work on the UK Console, I believe this is for the whole of Europe.
