Buying Battle Pass is worth it. Playing through it is not

Ok so we all already know the progression system is a piece of monkey feces, but the Battle Pass is actually decently priced.
Lemme explain: I’ve waited 2+ years for this game to release and my hype is incredibly high. So when I heard Multiplayer was releasing on my BIRTHDAY!!! I was more than ready to spend 25 bucks and get the Battle pass and Gamepass Ultimate.
Now here’s the unbiased view: Halo Infinite is great :+1: nuff’ said. The amount of customization has seduced me to spend about 50 bucks on the Battle pass and esports skins.
WARNING: real pros will target esports skins because they know you’re probably a noob who really wanted the mark seven helmet without buying 60+ dollars worth of customization.
You get Noble Six and some cool colors to go with him if you buy the battlepass. Worth 10 bucks to me.

Progression is laughable. I hate it. I have to play minimum 5-7 btb or ra matches to make 1 level in a day.

Fix progression, 343i, fix progression.

Write in the replies what you would have your arbiter (343i) do.

I’d have my holy warrior promise on his life that he won’t turn the act of balancing Halo Infinite’s gameplay and end-user systems into a negotiation.

Real, meaningful progression that doesn’t abuse or take advantage of human nature in a harmful way (i.e. FOMO) is non-negotiable and supposedly in the works. (Although I’m not sure how much of an improvement their alleged new system will be.)

Open, appropriately monetized customization matching what we were told in December 2020 is completely non-negotiable and not sufficiently addressed. (This is due to the widespread controversy having first sprung up during the team’s holiday break, so I’ll hold my peace on this until actual words have been spoken.)

Quality, appropriately high-end and rewarding gameplay is non-negotiable and thankfully present. Despite kind of being the only aspect of this game that doesn’t need harping on, I will comment that they should continue to treat weapon balancing they way they do. They’ve done a fine job over the years.

Gonna be honest, BP progression for me hasn’t been too bad. I’ve had a bunch of banked double XP and challenge swaps through various stuff so I used my double bonuses when advantageous and swapped out garbage challenges.

I think the BP could be excusable if there were simply better ways to get into games. If I could choose whether I want to play CTF or Oddball or Slayer, then the likelihood increases exponentially that I can finish the challenges of “play one CTF game” or “win three slayer games” or “get 10 kills with the sidekick”. That way, people who need kills to level up go into slayer games, people that need objective wins or points go into CTF or objective games - it’s a win win.

I do disagree with the lack of free content, I think locking colors and a lot of armor pieces out for people that don’t buy the battle pass is wrong. But to address the battle pass itself, the easiest way to make it successful in its current state is just to expand playlists. It really bothers me that after the freedom that the MCC allows, that they decided to squeeze everyone for Infinite to force you into certain modes so it takes longer to progress and incentivizes spending more money simply to move along the BP.

I got to disagree, the rewards are poor in my opinion. I get an arm attachment for one level which has taken me 20 matches to acquire.

The halo universe is really diverse, I thought I would get all sorts of skins, like brutes, Elites etc to unlock but they have really stretched it out. I do like the Samarai skin though, really cool.

I’ve heard they are going to improve the battle pass somewhat so looking forward to those changes.

I’m absolutely loving ranked though so not too bothered really. I just like to play.

If I where to rate the gameplay and battlepass:

Gameplay 100

Battlepass 10
