You can do button mapping now for all games. Xbox Accessories app.

In general I’m ok with the current layout, but I can see where someone might want to remap. There are differently other games where I’d like to do a remap for

The button mapping isn’t going to help much on the standard controller. The elite controller paddles allows you to keep your thumbs on the sticks at all times and you don’t even have to touch a,b,x,or y buttons.

I would make my controls just like Halo: Reach.

I read the app now Works with normal Controllers too. So remap as you want should be possible.

so happy xbox has button remapping so we can all map our buttons now without the elite controller…finally! Me personally i already changed melee to the opposite bumper because it was on the same side as shoot and i end up shooting into a melee a lot. and being on opposite sides feels smoother for me. Also i am left handed and finally can play some left handed settings which halo 5 didnt offer.

you are correct…you can remap buttons on regular controllers and set up profiles for specific games which is nice

than go to xbox accessories app and make it happen…

If it helps I say remap your standard controller but I would just go get the elite controller. I will remap my standard controller and if it does help I will eat my words. If your poor and can’t shell out $150 on a controller you probably should not have bought a $400.00 xbox one, $60.00 halo game, and any other games you have. And you should probably disconnect your internet service.

This is one of the most asinine comments I’ve read on these forums, and for this community, that is saying a lot.

I am thinking about getting an elite controller just for this reason. I need an extra one plus being able to crouch rapidly in gun fights will be very useful.

If only using a standard controller you could map the triggers the App would be more useful. As it stands you can’t map triggers.

Even the option to stick up/down would help rather than stick click.

I am struggling with click right stick to zoom but want to keep other Recon settings. Going to try zoom on X just hope it works better than what I have. Hate the zoom locking

You can? Because it looks like it’s universal to me, no game specific changes.

Yeah if you have a standard controller then you can ‘swap’ buttons - If you set X as Y, then Y gets set as X. It’s a global as well for standard controllers, so any changes you make will happen across the whole Xbox. The Elite controller gives you more control, with the ability to remap the same button multiple times. Definitely. I really wanna swap the crouch and boost buttons.

Bought my razer wolverine controller a while back and it’s like night and day playing on it. I assigned the back button paddles as jump and crouch instead of using the x and b buttons so now my thumbs never come off the sticks.
