So the button layout in Halo 5. What do y’all think about it?
I don’t like complaining that much, and I really enjoyed the beta, but I’m not too sure about the layout.
I use Recon, but I feel that holding the trigger on the default layout might give and advantage to those who use it since they can simply keep holding it down.
Ofcourse this is all based on nothing but speculation. So what do y’all think?
I played with Recon too as I usually do. Didn’t like the control layout and switched to default and I was so screwed up most the time just trying to get used to the new layouts. I personally felt there were like…too many buttons needed to differ from regular melee, charge, and sprint and ground pound. Idk, just overall had issues compared to all the other Halo’s lol. I’ll get used to it more at launch.
I used the Halo 4 default controls and it worked fine
I play as boxer and I loved the the layout except the confrontation with crouch jumps and ground pound

i used default the only thing i think i would have liked different would to shift the truster button some how, having it on b is a little odd at time but i will have to wait and see, Playing with default played amazingly for me.
I used bumper jumper. Only complaint is there is a delay when pressing A to sprint. I would like fully customizeable controls though.
Allow us to map our own buttons.

i wish but i dont think its likely they kind of talk about this before on Neogaf the logistics of coding infinite button combinations

same here. I remember considering recon but then I saw the button combos and just thought nope.

I think that happened with every control scheme. While I was slightly upset with the crouch jumping being gone it made me happy at the same time since it removed Gandhi hopping, but didn’t they say they were changing that?

I agree that default users should have to re-press the shoulder button to zoom again. It is a pretty hefty combat advantage since halo kills normally are all about the head shots depending on the weapon.
I actually really like the default control scheme.
Pretty much everything important can be used without taking your fingers off the sticks, apart from jump.
I wish they’d put it in the MCC. It’s better than Fishstick.
It is garbage. B to use Thruster Pack is unintuitive, LT to zoom is broken and puts too much emphasis on it, and it is just overall difficult to use/get used to for Halo. They should make Halo 4 the default.
Recon Master Race. Can’t get over that Halo 3 muscle memory!
I just want/need my triggers to be the grenades, right thumb stick for melee. I want my Green thumb back!!! the new green thumb is brutal and pretty much anyone who used it before will longer use it now due to there poor layout.
I use H4 and it works fine for me.

As did I
No problem with it, Felt easier to switch between different games with the new layout (wasn’t used to one specific controller setup that halo usually has)
