what do you guys think of this idea? button combos for strafing, to create a skill gap in strafing. e.g.; a quick 180 turn, by inputting a button combo, that makes you do a quick 180 or a 90degree spin too- and for strafing
when you strafe, you start at half speed- then you hit top speed, but you can flick thumbstick 3 times very quickly, to get into top speed right away, additionaly you can click the thumbstick down and flick thumbstick twice, to perform a swooping crouch duck, while moving at top speed- back into a strafe. then you could do inputs of- flicking 3 times to move top speed, immediately cancelling into crouching swoop strafe, and then going back in the opposite direction over and over for a SK crouching type strafe. what you guys think?
Strafing is a skill. Reducing it to a button combo would mean that you’d have to get skilled at button combos. I’d rather have people get good at strafing.
Just don’t see the point.
I’d rather not. It works for GoW because A is an “action” button, where alot of stuff happens, and any combination needed is only limited to the direction of the action, and the action button.
A button combo increases the chance for error and is more likely to create more frustration to players. We already have just about every button used up, making it rather difficult to make an easy to learn feature. At this stage, it would just be too confusing to learn a combination. I’d rather just limit to just moving the stick around. If they want faster turning, they will need to adjust to a higher sensitivity.

No, seriously, what? What is this? I don’t even know what this suggestion is trying to be. It sounds like some awful inbred child of some Beat-Em-Up, GoW and something else, but it sure as hell isn’t Halo.

Leave ANY button combos back in Halo 2 where they belong.
I play halo to shoot, not press BXBBXY to execute some maneuver.
I got a better combo: Start>Controller Setting>Aim Sensitivity> 10
Now you can spin 360 in one flick!
