Butchered This Series.

Unfortunately I am out of patience with what 343 has done to my beloved franchise. Many of you may have seen my postings on Bungie over the years, as I have been an active member of the community since the dawn of Bungie’s stat tracking for Halo 2 multiplayer. And if not, no worries. I’ll keep this (relatively) short. I’ll likely get quickly hushed and banned, but I don’t care whatsoever. Besides, 343 clearly doesn’t either. It’s just a paycheck to them now anyways.

I have been nothing but an optimistic advocate of 343 and had the utmost confidence in their capabilities to bring us a fantastic product as they have assembled a highly talented team, who’s skills collectively should more than suffice to get the job done. However they did not. They butchered this series for me with the garbage they have chosen to throw right in our faces, while they laugh behind the scenes, as we just blindly eat it up.

No wonder the population has fallen so low. I can only hope to GOD they listen to some of their veteran long time fans before even thinking about slapping the title Halo on yet another dumbed down, progression based, unlocking system having, catering to the casuals, generic and sad excuse for a competitive shooter.

What got us to this point? I’ve stopped playing as much as I’ve gotten older and just have more responsibilities, but even when I have the free time to get a game or two in every so often, I simply cringe at the blatant disregard for all that made this series so great to me.

Whoever thought it was an even remotely good idea to simply do away with being able to pick up weapons on the battlefield, either ones we had lost, dropped, switched out intentionally, or just to scavenge from an enemy, should be slapped so effing hard in their stupid face, they lose the glasses they’re likely wearing. They LITERALLY disappear now in under 3 seconds. I’ve timed it. Just pathetic. -.-

And I’m all for nerfing the Banshee down a little as it was just a spawn trap waiting to happen in even the most mediocre of player’s hands, but now it’s just an awful shell of what it once was. Borderline unusable. Not to mention the plasma pistol is now a power weapon?! Only…now you can spawn with it every damn time you want! Can we say “Good bye” to vehicle combat as we know it?? Idiots.

I could go on, but it’s not even worth it. There are a few things this game did well and I am certainly appreciateive of that, but if we’re being objective and truthful to ourselves, this is simply not the Halo 4 we would’ve all wished to see when riding the high, in the glory days of Halo 2 & 3.

This’ll likely get locked, and if by some miraculous chance it garners at least a little bit of attention, I strongly doubt it’ll do any good in hopefully aiding and imbedding the last remaining glimmers of potential for Halo 5…let alone any other game they dare slap that monicker on again. /rant.

Thoughts?

This
I’ve never experienced this in any other game and its REALLY frustrating.

You mean their glasses disappear after 3 seconds?

I need to read more of your opinions to have a valid arguement with you, They seem really good and i’d like to hear more. The plasma pistol bit, I can’t say i’ve seen too much of it being overused except on Ragnarok but it’s used on there for obvious reasons.

As for Weapon Scavenging, it’s really only on Loadout and Personal Ordinance Weapons. With Ordinances vanishing faster than Loadouts.

There’s more to Halo than multiplayer, 343 don’t care? Yeah, all the updates they have done really says that, of course there are issues but to say 343 aren’t listening is false

Well it happens to personal ordnance as well as just literally any weapon that is dropped. If you pick up and incineration cannon right next to your base, then get sniped and killed, even if you respawn right where you died, it’ll likely have already disappeared. Now is that fun or fair? Hell no.

Its all about preference.

I prefer Halo 4 the most while you hate it.

I don’t think moaning on the forums and complaining saying how you’ve left will change anything either as not to sound rude but you’ve already paid for the game once.

Besides they’ve done a lot of updates which surely proves they care for the community they’ve got as they could’ve just given up on us if they wanted to.

You can update all you want but that doesn’t mean they’re listening to the community. If anything, it’s further proof that they’ve mismanaged and handled this poorly since day one. They piece meal broke this game down and had it stitched back together with various inputs anyways. Not my idea of “taking our thoughts into consideration”.

Why create a company solely for the purpose of guiding this franchise into the future anyway when you can’t even make the full game yourself? If you don’t know what I speak of, please, refrain from retaliation and do the research…

Not to mention they couldn’t even get the file share online and working properly for what, half a year after launch? Just sad. Bungie did it with a smaller team, and all in house. With a much higher noticeable standard of quality too. But I digress.

don’t forget the theater mode for campaign which was going to “be implemented later” and then they just up and quit.

This, I agree with all of this

In fact this is what 343 was like when they decided they wanted Halo 4:

Expecting a long awesome thing from a new company but getting a deranged mix up in return

Yes, butchered then seasoned then cooked into a delicious piece of meat.

Not everyone thinks halo 4 is all that bad. Most of us really like it.

Given the skepticism that you’ve expressed toward the moderation team, I’d like to make it clear that the lock and edit isn’t for criticizing the game. It’s for these:

I will say that I’m disappointed by your post. Judging by some of your wording, you’re clearly capable of expressing your disappointment in a detailed and constructive manner that could generate an interesting and thought-provoking discussion. You just chose not to. :\
