But... That's not the right one, 343...

> Reduced the auto aim, magnetism and damage on the Gauss Warthog.

Oh, he must of gotten confused and meant DMR, right? RIGHT??!!

The Gauss hog is only on one map, and you don’t spawn with it. when did the Gauss hog even become a “popular -Yoink- topic” over the DMR?

LOL That is so true, maybe an epic typo?

I can’t understand why they haven’t fixed anything the community suggested, they’d rather fix things i have never seen anyone complain about it, I mean who cares? it’s in Big Team casual playlist on one map lol.

Cheer up, there’s more:

> If your ears perked up with that last one, you probably understand what this means. Previously added weapon adjustments, such as the Bolt Shot Nerf that went live last month, needed a title update in order to be released. With this title update, we are adding the ability to make weapon adjustments outside of the standard title update process. This will allow us to fine tune and tweak the Halo 4 sandbox as often or not as often as needed. One thing to keep in mind is that even the tiniest of changes affects the sandbox as a whole, so these adjustments will be closely scrutinized and carefully tested before being released. We’ll be sharing more about the different things we can do with our soon-to-be-acquired weapon-tuning “knobs” in our PAX East panel, so keep your ear close to the ground for the latest on that particular aspect of the title update.

That means Halo 4’s weapons sandbox will be constantly adjusted, like in some other games.

Sure! They tell you that but why announce the Gauss fix and not anything actually IMPORTANT! If this was the priority then they got there priorities wrong.

Except from the fact that the DMR isn’t the only weapons that need to be balanced.

The whole backend tuning system is covering the entire Halo 4 sandbox, not just one weapon.

Can’t players here just be happy that they are introducing this new system?

The answer is no, but I shall still remain content with this.

Because ability of adjusting is limited to default weapons. That means Gauss still needs separate TU fix. I’m also waiting for DMR nerfing, and I was really angry when they took care of Boltshot without even touching DMR. I hope that DMR nerf is the first thing they’ll do after implementing weapon’s adjusting, I too was hoping for something like “we’re nerfing the hell out of DMR, finally”, but formally this is not something that stands out of that last point.

Hey, they could’ve nerfed nothing. At least this is a start! Hopefully the DMR is next

I for one was happy with what was posted in the bulletin. It shows that contrary to what people say, and that they are listening to the community. They are adding the ability to make weapon adjustments via backend tuning. To me that shows that they are listening and testing things out before they actually launch it. With the scrutiny that they received over this game it’s a wise choice to do it this way. Unfortunately they will never please everyone.

I’m glad they added the feature, but there is just something so satisfying about seeing that it will be a hard TU patch.
I really wanted to see “DMR auto aim, magnetism, and fire rate slightly reduced to further define its role as a longer range weapon” in that list.
Besides that, we STILL have to wait for a DMR fix because they are still “testing” their new feature.

While these are all good things wheres the Regular Warthog buff that imo is alot more important thana Gauss nerf although the Gauss did need it.

I have seen so many people asking for a Hog buff but not alot for a Gauss nerf.

I really don’t think that anybody understood the last one…

The Gauss Hog ‘nerf’ shows us alot about 343’s intentions. And while I applaud the aim-assist and magnatism reduction as making the gauss a skill based power weapon is 100% the right thing to do. I’d have to question what the damage reduction will achieve, is it going to take 2 shots to kill someone on foot? or will the tank now need 4 shots to kill?

I’m happy to see this announced though - exile imbalance is the single most map based complaint and the map that is chosen the most in BTB, its an important issue.
