Bungie or Certain Affinity

I’m posting both in MCC & HALO 5 forums .I was wonder if theoretically speaking if Bungie was to come back or Certain Affinity was to take over halo.Would you want them to start back with halo 4 and remake it from scratch or to continue 343’s work. Not bashing 343 but what would fans want if 343 wasnt making halo anymore?

I don’t understand the desire by some for Bungie to come back. They did make Reach, a game the community swears was the turning point for Halo becoming “bad”, and 343 was praised for tweaking Reach when Bungie wasn’t. Now that they made Destiny, a game that couldn’t be further from Halo, I wonder why people assume Bungie would create the perfect Halo game now. Nobody thought they made the perfect Halo game when they were actively making them either.

So no, I wouldn’t want Bungie to come back with Halo. Can’t say for Certain Affinity. They make good maps, but an entire game? Unsure.

It no a desire its theoretically speaking if they came back

Theoretically, if they came back I don’t think anything would change based on Bungie’s track record.

Very true. I personally liked the maps C.A. made, but would they be able to make a story as well? Bungie at least had that going for them.

I don’t see Bungie wanting Halo again. They’re done and I do want them to move on and make something great. Destiny isn’t finished. It’s obvious, but I think they will do what they can to get it where it needs to be and hopefully they will make a much better sequel to Halo’s “sister” franchise.

as for bungie they suck now so forget them, and Certain Affinity well they worked on call of duty ghosts and that is the worst call of duty or so i heard sooo no

I say no, mainly because of 343’s awesome story skills.

I wouldn’t want Bungie back. Reach showed us that they were taking it in the wrong direction. And while 4’s multiplayer was atrocious, 343i fixed it (by the looks of it) in Halo 5, and Destiny, oh man. That was disappointing.

Who is even left at Bungie that made the games good?

Joe is gone, so there goes the story part.
Marty is gone, so there goes the music.

You can’t tell me you think that Chris Carney and Lars Bakken to make a perfect Halo.

Did you even play Crucible in Destiny…

I agree. 343 took story telling, character development, terminals, cutscenes and attention to details to a whole new level. That’s why most people interested in the lore support 343.

Well, Certain Affinity handled Halo 4, Halo CEA, and MCC’s multiplayer… So they kind of already had their hand at things.

i don’t get peoples liking of certain affinity, they first developed for halo in halo 2 with creation of 2 “classic” halo 2 maps…desolation and tombstone (some of the worst maps from halo 2)

they then made the defiant map pack in reach - condemned (trash) and highlands (poor in comparison to most of the BTB maps in reach, wasted potential tbh)

they remade halo CE maps in the anniversary maps (all of which had poor spawns and bad geometry)

they then made war games, many of the halo 4 maps, the halo 4 forge maps and new gametypes (most of which sucked)

and i don’t know how much input they had into MCC.

tbh i’d want shot of CA, they really can’t design good maps.

The nostalgia kiddies want their Bungie back. After the way Destiny turned out I wouldn’t want them anywhere near Halo.

343 has made one Halo game (yes they worked on CEA and MCC, as did other companies). I know this is a hypothetical question, but why even bother asking it. We have barely seen what 343 is capable of providing us.

343 really seems to have a vision of what the Halo universe can become, and I am really excited and on their team about it.

Pretty much what CelticDragon said.
I don’t care if Certain Affinity has Max Hoberman or not, their track record isn’t all that impressive.
Then again, maybe they simply didn’t know how to work with the changes 343I had made.

343I listens to feedback more than Bungie ever did. No, I’m not trying to fanboy for 343I, I’m simply trying to be objective. To say Bungie never really cared much for MLG would be an understatement, they’ve always been at odds with MLG. 343I has gone out of their way to hire Pros and make drastic changes to Halo 5 based on everything we -Yoinked!- about (complain about ground pound all you want, aim assist is still lower, killtimes are still lower, and personal ordnance and all that other -Yoink- is GONE). 343I might not be as receptive to feedback as we want them to be, they still blow Bungie out of the water when it comes to actually giving a damn about what we say. There is no reason to believe a Bungie game would’ve been any more original or competitive than a 343I game. Please, for -Yoinks!- sake, stop pretending Bungie is the messiah of Halo just because a few of their remaining staff happened to have come up with it in 2001.

Regardless, these debates are pointless. 343I owns Halo now and we have to live with that. Speculating on who would’ve been better is of no use to any of us.

No thanks. Bungie made Reach multiplayer and then made a scifi fps that couldn’t possibly go against everything that made Halo great any more.

I don’t think this is a good argument.

It’s like saying Valve doesn’t care about class-based shooters because they also happened to make Left 4 Dead.

Destiny isn’t supposed to be like Halo. Not all of a publisher’s franchises need to be within the same genre.

For one thing they weren’t trying to make another Halo in Destiny. If they were then they should have just stayed with Halo…

I wish Certain affinity wasn’t so busy with DOOM, then they could give us better maps.
