Read it well
Back when Halo:ODST came out is when Bungie knew they wouldn’t be working on Halo anymore. The contract agreement between what Microsoft wanted to do with the game and what Bungie wanted to do with it did not match, so the contract was not renewed giving what remaining years Bungie had left on their contract to work with the game.
Now in Halo:ODST there was an easter egg, it was this cutout advertisement that said Destiny is coming and it had the floating, half constructed planet we see now. At the time ODST came out Bungie was already working on a different Sci Fi shooter. Now what is the biggest Sci Fi shooter out there? Halo of course. There’s Crisis with a following, but it’s significantly smaller. The real big titan was Halo.
So when you’re only going to be in charge with what’s about to be your biggest competitor, why not sabotage your own game? ODST and Reach were games to squeeze whatever money left they could get out of Halo. This would kill off Halo and fund Destiny in the process.
Look at how the fanbase has dwindled across the years as we were being handed really bad games. Now all the fans that have been craving for a good Sci Fi shooter have been left out in the cold for 5 years. I feel like Bungie had this all planned out, and if Destiny is really good, mission accomplished.
Now this only applies maybe %30 to this forum from what I’ve seen and the time I’ve spent on it. There’s the %30 like me trying to help fix what’s beyond repair, and the %70 that actually enjoys playing Casualo 4. So for that %30, this one is for you.
Also selling my xbox, so idc what happens to this post

Why would you better the franchise you’re going to have to compete against shortly? They killed off Halo with those two games. Look at the initial money 343 made from Halo. Fans wanted an actual Halo game so bad they threw their money at them. Bungie is sitting back watching their 7 step plan to taking over the world fall into place.

I don’t think Bungie rolls that way. Your conspiracy theory lacks any kind of common business sense, too. Nah, I think some people just don’t like forward thinking in their video games. To each their own, but all games get stale after a few years. I’d rather 343/bungie/whoever try something new and fail than rehash the same old time after time.
It may be biased, but at least he was honest in what he felt without sugarcoating his words.Instead of saying filthy casuals he could have just said Infinity playlist fans and said the exact same thing, oops.Tee hee wink.
Edit:To stay on topic, i agree with OP on that theory because it does sound like bungie. They are a full of very intelligent people who see a bigger picture, well seem to be at least.

Say you owned a business with open shares. You knew you were going to get bought out soon and you planned on opening up a second business that did the same thing as your first one. Why would you put all your effort into the first business that was about to get bought out? If you crash the first one and let it burn, the second one will be more successful due to a lack of competition.

I don’t. Shinying up my Casualo 4 CoD box for some pictures then it’s straight to craigs list.
I’ve always wondered about this since Reach came out and it had so many things wrong with it. I don’t know if Bungie would deliberately sabotage Halo like that, but I definitely think they did not give it their best attempt with Halo Reach. Destiny will go a long way to help us answer this question though. If it is like Reach with the casualization then that will tell us that they actually tried their best on Reach. But if it goes back more to the Halo2/Halo3 days of more competitive play, then that will show us that they were just messing around when they made Reach.

Infinity/BTB players. Which make up %90 of the daily Halo 4 population
Bungie had a small division working on Halo 3:ODST, separate company made Halo Wars with a small amount of Bungie’s input, and Reach had a small amount of Bungie employees working on it…since ODST the primary focus of Bungie’s was on Destiny.

I’m waiting to see as well, but I’m glad that you get my point.

Halo has no competitive scene anymore, so there’s no need of being supportive to it.
You just said you were a casual, welcome to that %90 buddy

Sorry, but I can only laugh. Actual fans are the half of the Halo games owners, the rest are “filthy casuals” and simple customers wanting to have some fun for their hard earned money.
At it’s core, Halo 4 is still “actual Halo game”, with all it’s pros and cons. If you don’t agree with me (and some other people), simply pick “actual Halo game” and have fun. Nothing stops you, man.
