I just saw a post in the b.net forums about the weekly update, talking about how all their best talent is leaving. Makes sense since so many ex-Bungie are supposed to be at 343, but it’s sad for Bungie fans.
Here’s the quote:
Too bad the comments about how the majority of talent from Halo CE still being at Bungie were a lie. Hamilton Chu, Rick Ryan, Bernie Freidin, Matt Segur, Steve Abeyta, John Howard, Eric Arroyo, Mark Bernal, Chris Hughes, Cris Lee, Stephen Okasaki, Brian Schultz, Jamie Greisemer (creator of the golden triangle), Daniel Orzulak, Michael Evans, Derrick Moore, Alexander Seropian, Adam Crockett, Paul Clift, Peter Marks, Adam Twews are all gone. So are Max Hoberman, Paul Russell, and Stefan Sinclair… All of whom are now at Certain Affinity who does map packs for 343. I also heard from a friend who worked at Bungie that Paul Bertone (design director since Halo CE) just left.
I won’t say that Bungie is going to fall apart, but the chunk of Bungie staff who just couldn’t let Halo go probably left Bungie to stay with the franchise that they created. Bungie will fall back and regroup and will still come out with great games that we will play.
Bungie is in great state, and is anything but falling apart. Yes, they no longer employ many of the employees from back at the turn of the century (And it’s good to see they found really good jobs), but they still employ a very large staff with plenty of talent.
I’m not worried about Bungie. They have a huge list of incredible talent working in that building… (Joe Staten, Chris Butcher, Marty O’Donell, just to name a few) But hearing that those 2 are no longer with them makes me sad. Bertone and Joe Staten were such an awesome team
Bungie is starting something new, and all the old timers who gave birth to Halo and want to see it grow up. Bungie may lose the talent that gave birth to Halo but they will never be short of talent for their future.

Atleast it’s good news for Halo 4. I really don’t care about what Bungie is doing.

GG bungie, they should go bankrupt, they ruined halo and lost 16million some fan base from halo reach. I think microsoft should sue. Bungie did make them loose a cash cow, by not caring about fans and killing ranking system and throwing in bloom and their creative idea to use old maps that suck for $163 dollars including tax, i feel ripped off.
I don’t think Bungie are falling apart. Personally I’d like proof that all those people have really left, you never know what motives that person on Bnet has. But regardless, they will go on to do great things. They have made stellar games in the past, and I’m looking forward to what’s next (as I think a lot of Bungie fans are).
They are not falling apart, i know alot of Halo fans love Bungie for what they have done with Halo and the creativity they have. Alot of people including myself are fans of Bungie for their work on Halo and im looking forward to their next game.
> Don’t think of it as falling apart. Think of it as moving on to bigger and better things.
Bigger and better than Halo? Honestly… that’s a tall order to meet. Good luck to them, but unless it’s very very impressive, I won’t be interested. I think I’m done with Bungie’s “You have no rights” attitude.
truthfully I feel sorry for Bungie, they have dropped their most important series and are probably currently working on an MMO, they are not gonna be as popular with the fans anymore as they are all shifting here to 343.
I’m sorry but, your information is incredibly wrong. Bungie are NOT falling apart. Only 3 or 4 people have left Bungie to work for 343. Frankie and 2 artists or programmers. 99 per cent of the employees who created Halo are still at Bungie.
Except if you read the list that was posted, none of them are still at Bungie except for Bertone (still listed under Grizzled Ancients on the website, so maybe he hasn’t left… yet). Do you understand what 99% means?
