Bungie coming back to Halo? No...Duh?

I have seen a bit of speculation suggesting that Bungie are coming back to Halo, and before a Mod locks this thread, hear me out.

  1. Microsoft won’t just give Halo back to Bungie as 343 have worked hard to get where they are today

  2. Bungie finished Halo with Reach, it is clear that they wanted to leave the franchise in a good way, and that they wanted to work on other projects.

343 are doing an amazing job at the moment, I can’t wait to play Halo 6. I don’t like the fact that some people are suggesting that Halo can be ‘saved’ if Bungie come back, or come and work with 343 - give 343 a bit of respect, because we wouldn’t have what we have today if it was not for them.

You can have whatever opinion you want, but you wouldn’t be able to if there was no more Halo.

“give 343 a bit of respect, because we wouldn’t have what we have today if it was not for them.” To true man👍 we wouldn’t have a Halo franchise at it’s lowest if not for 343, props to that. I’m not seeing their “amazing” work.

It’s not hard to see why people throw speculation around as maybe not everyone shares your respect for 343? Dislike it all you want but I have my own dislike on the current games and their design approach. It’s to the point I wouldn’t mind a new developer, hell I wouldn’t care if bungie gave it a 2nd go just to see what happens.

I don’t think Bungie would come back to work on Halo. However when I first heard of Bungie splitting with Activision I thought it could be interesting if they joined Microsoft again. Imagine the powerhouse Microsoft Studios would be with two huge franchises like Halo and Destiny.

I thought this too. Maybe not Halo content, but it would be cool if Bungie teamed up with Microsoft for its ‘next big thing’!

Also, I think 343 has done a great job with Halo. Not only are Halo 4 and Halo 5 my ‘most time played Halo games’… But Bungie also brought back the classics in MCC, with an alive matchmaking, in their best form ever. 1080/60 for these amazing campaigns is heaven to a long time Halo fan.

I can’t wait to see what 343 comes up with in H6, but for now, I have plenty of content (books and games) to enjoy in the meantime.

People forget that the only reason Halo 3 did as well is because it came out slightly before the rise of call of duty. Halo Reach was a disaster in every aspect in my personal opinion. The last thing I want as a life long Halo fan is to see Bungie return to Halo. Especially after their treatment of their most loyal community members once Destiny launched.
