BungiE-343i approach to the community differences *opinion*

I’m probably not the only one that noticed 343i developers gave out sneak hints\clarifications of in-game details on neogaf but not here in the official forums.
During the “Bungie days” the team was way more focused on the official community than anything else (not to mentions that we’ve had ARGs to deal with during pre-release time). 343i barely answers to posts in here and if “they” (“they” is usually bsangel) do is about waypoint or site related problems. Of course this is no big deal but I enjoyed the connection that Bungie had with the community and I kinda feel like it’s not like it anymore.
Now I’m wondering what is the reason behind this. I mean, we know that most of the topics in here aren’t very mature and a lot of posts are complete non-sense but that doesn’t sound like a good reason to me considering that Bungie’s forums were pretty much the same.

Any thoughts?

EDIT: title change for the sake of discussion.

I agree. I feel like there are some really great ideas on this forum that are just being ignored. If they want to make a game that will be praised by the community, it would best if they took into account what the community wants.

We have BS angel, and Franky rarely comes here, but oh well. I go lurking around on neogaf for his halo 4 related posts, or news in general. I don’t care that much. Wasn’t Frankie over at gaf when he was at Bungie too…

There really doesn’t have to be a “VS.”, please…

I would change the title and stop drawing attention to us. They are watching us and WILL come over here in force. Youve been warned.

I am not community? Yeesh. That’s welcoming…

hahahahahahahahahahaha

Not this again.

Too late, they are here.

Backing out of thread:
Heeeyyy Karl…

That’s just a title. I’m not comparing the two, I barely mention neogaf, the topic is about the different approach of 343i and Bungie with their community.

Why would you want to respond to the people who are aimlessly bashing you and your game? People here get the information eventually anyway, so it really doesn’t matter.

It’s like complaining that 343i told the magazines about Halo 4 before they did the forums.

Aww no more fun.

In regards to your title change, 343i is a different company to Bungie. They can present their news in whatever way they want to. They aren’t tied to the old standard of how Halo news and answers were released. Even back before I was a member of gaf, they still posted little clarifications on gaf instead of bungie.net. Nothing has really changed, aside from the company that is releasing the game.

I agree with the first statement but not the second. Noone is complaining about anything, it’s not like 343i is bad if they don’t answer in here. Moreover comments on neogaf aren’t like exclusives in a magazine…

I’m not saying “OMG thay post on neogaf but not in here )))):”. I’m just wondering why this community doesn’t feel like is directly tied with 343i than any other (Yes, I’ve read the “A Quick Note” pinned topic).

Yeah, Im sick of them answering questions on Neogaf, but not here on their own freakin’ forums. Jeez, 343, answer OUR questions too.

It’s getting ridiculous.
You should already be glad that Frankie keeps sharing infos online, directly to the fans.
Who cares if it’s on Neogaf or here, you’ll get the information within the hour following his post anyway.

And when they do, their posts will blot out the sun.

What is getting ridiculous is the whole neogaf thing, I don’t care about it. I wouldn’t even care if it was anywhere else, the topic is about the change in approach with the official community now and before Bungie passed the ball.

Oh.

It’s this thread again.

I guess before I start acting silly with the rest of them, I’ll say that Frankie and Ellis, actually I’m not 100% sure on Ellis, but I know Frankie for sure, has been on GAF for a long long time. He isn’t bounded there by trying to be official and whatnot. Doesn’t mean he can break non-disclosure agreements or give GAF any super exclusive news or anything like that. Being on GAF is like the equivalent of running into him on the street, or hanging out with him somewhere. We ask some questions, speculate, mostly freak out, and he casually comes in and lays down whatever he’s able to talk about. It would be like blaming anyone who knows him in real life for being able to communicate with him.

Besides, all he ever does is troll us anyway. And make fun of Tashi. And post pictures of cat poop.

Remember we had that one bulletin that answered many questions. The one with community asked questions. Besides it doesn’t really matter, we are pretty much up to date on Halo 4 news. If anything gets confirmed at gaf, it will magically appear here. Besides we are 1 community, so we shouldn’t be bothered by gaf getting some exclusive info. Different forums same community that loves halo.

I honestly just wish GAF would stop crashing my browser.
