Include a code in Halo CE Anniversary to download the Noble and Defiant Map Packs for free.
It makes purchasing a ten year old game easier.
It encourages people to buy the game new, not used.
It will make the people who have already purchased the Map Packs happy because they can actually play the maps they paid for.
It will make the transition to DLC required playlists much easier.
Thoughts?
Would be nice, but if they haven’t done it already, it’s too late. I’m sure they’ve already begun shipping the games to retailers to keep in their back rooms until the 15th.
They could just include a code on the receipt. No need to modify what’s inside the game case.
It’s not going to happen. I wish they would as well since I haven’t bought either of the two map packs.

I would be SO fine with this. I paid for both map packs the day they came out, but I’m willing to take it on the chin as an “early adopter” so I can get more games on those maps.
Seriously: Anchor 9 and Condemned are awesome maps.
Picture a world where everyone on multiplayer had all the Reach maps, all the Reach DLC, and all the CEA maps. THAT would be fierce. A Super-Duper play list requiring all those might be nice, but I fear the population would be too low.
My opinion: give them away.
You’ve probably sold all the Reach DLC you’re gonna sell by now anyway.
Uhh, guys - that’s what they’re doing…
> Uhh, guys - that’s what they’re doing…
they’re referring to Noble and Defiant maps, not the CEA maps.
Oh my bad - never mind lol
As a consumer, I always agree to free content :).
Agreed. I barely get to play the DLC maps, they should be permanently reduced to 400 each on the Marketplace and offered free to all Anniversary owners. They don’t even need to put codes in the boxes - they just need to release a patch that offers to download the maps (at no charge) for all people playing online with Anniversary. The system can tell which disc you’re running, it wouldn’t require anything extra to be added.
No. I don’t want the price to inflate to $60 like ODST did. It really devalues the maps I already bought.
The DLC maps are worth money, why would they give them away for free?
I went through my game history yesterday to see how much I’ve actually played the DLC maps in normal Matchmaking.
Breakpoint: 2 times
Tempest: 7 times
Anchor 9: 10 times
Condemned: 1 time
Highlands: 0 times
I’m doubting the original suggestion will happen, but something clearly needs to be done.

This.
I’m not hopeful of seeing the CEA maps outside of their specific playlists at all.
I mean I know 343 said they’ve increased the weighting or something but I’m not expecting great things.
