Bumping old threads

Please forgive my ignorance if this has been answered previously, but how long does a thread have to be inactive for before it’s considered ‘dead’ (i.e. you shouldn’t reply to it as it’s considered ‘bumping’)? Is it over a month, 3 months, 6 months etc. or does another factor determine it?

Apologies if this is in the wrong spot; I couldn’t decide if this would fit better under ‘Waypoint Support’ or ‘General Discussion’.

There’s no real hard/fast answer on that and it depends on a lot of things but generally speaking, I’d say 3 months and older is worth leaving buried.
