I got the idea to really check around with the different Control schemes yesterday and found out Helljumper which is a modified Bumper Jumper. Only difference is Grenades on LB, melee on Right Stick and aim down the sights on Left Trigger.
It’s better I Think. Only problem is getting used to it. I aim down the sight when wanting to throw grenades etc, but overall I Think it’s better.

Timesplitters has customisable buttons and that’s been out for fifteen years, nearly sixteen. Just saying…

Go into your Xbox One settings and you can assign buttons manually.

Yeah the feature’s already out lol.
I didn’t like hell jumper. I like bj the most still.
I dont really understand why bumper jumper is making a lot of threads lately (I was even playing with someone last night that was saying “god im dying so much because im getting used to bumper jumper”). You dont have to use bumper jumper to be good at the game. I would argue that jumping in the middle of a firefight makes you a WIDE open target. the strafe/random crouch is a much better tactic than floating in the air (especially with the new float mechanic when youre scoped in). When you jump your path is easily predictable and you can follow the path the entire time. strafing and crouching can be as random as you make it, completely UNPREDICTABLE and thats what you want in a 1v1, unpredictability. Once they know your path, youre dead.

Good Point. Me personally never use crouch to fool my enemies. I’m no experienced Halo player. I’m just a decent shooter player but I feel crouching is so darn slow in this game which makes me never wanna use it.
I’m in the process of switching to Helljumper. I love it so far. Not only for the ability to jump and aim but for not having to take my right thumb off the aim stick so much. With the amount of jumping and clambering that the maps require, I feel this is a huge advantage.
Tonight I may try reassigning some buttons to do a modified helljumper. I want to reassign crouch to a button since I never crouch and put the thruster on the left stick. Has anyone else done that?
the entire point of bumper jumper is jump on left bumper… if you replace it it is no longer a modification, it is a new control scheme, and btw bumper jumper would still be better because it gives you more control in air.

You cant stay crouched, then you’re really dead, but if your shield breaks, and all they need is that head shot to kill you, a quick crouch can force a miss. You can also save the thrust until your shield breaks and thrust left or right for a real hard strafe.
The jump in H5 is weak, it’s not nearly as high as previous games. Couple that with a float mechanic, and you’re begging for that red X.
The less you use your right thumbstick the better off you are. Look at great sniper montages…They will always get in the ball park with the right thumbstick and strafe with the left to get the headshot.
