I’m looking to play more competitively, and a friend of mine suggested I use bumper jumper, because ‘all the pros use it’. What does Waypoint think of the bumper jumper control scheme? Or any others worth noting?
I just started using Bumper Jumper in Halo 4 due to advice from Bravo and some of the testers. It feels pretty nice, but I’d say give it a shot and see how you like it.

I thought you were Bravo for a second, almost crapped my pants.
I turned bumper jumper on today and JIP’d a match of Infinity FFA on landfall and made second place. Not sure if that’s because I’m awesome or if Bumper Jumper is the control scheme of the Gods. I like both options.
Addendum: Accidentally using my AA instead of reloading got me killed several times though.
I used to use bumper jumper but I like Fishstick better.
I’m not a fan of bumper jumper. People like it cause you can jump and aim without taking your fingers off the stick but I don’t have a problem jumping and shooting.
I hear the biggest turn off to bumper jumper is jetpacking while shooting is hard. Fish stick is really good for sniping.

That makes sense, seeing as how your right (aim) thumb would have to hold the X button (AA button in Bumper Jumper).

…WHERE DID YOU GET THAT EMBLEM? it’s look like another cooler version of Laso. Looks like you went fotus hunting lol

This is me in every Halo 3 game ever after playing Reach or H4. And I never have a regenerator, no no. It’s always a power drain. And I’m ALWAYS near my teammates. The pretty blue is like a flashing, “FREE EXTERMINATION HERE!” sign.
I use greenthumb. I tried bumper jumper but it just confuses me after playing GT for so long.

Your emblem combinations looks pretty awesome.
If this was H3 or HR, I’d say use Bumper Jumper or Walkie Talkie/Default. For H4, Bumper Jumper all the way
I really hope the next-gen Xbox has 2 bumper buttons per side instead of just 1. Jump and AA on left side, Melee and Action on the right… Now that’d be perfect for default or “the next” BJ setting.

Being able to jump and shoot at the same time is good. Paired up with Scuf controller makes things even easier for now.
My first thread in a long, long time, and 2 monitors and who I assume is a 343 employee respond.
Life is good.
But anyway, I like it so far; I can see why its popular. I never use the jetpack though, just my AR class w/ Regeneration.
What is a Scuf controller?
Bumper jumper is great once you get adjusted to the difference
Im not going to lie it will probably take u 1 or 2 days to get use to it- and u might even do worse most games
But when u finally get u will be happy u stuck it out and switched…
It took me 2 days in Halo 3 to feel normal again after i switched–
Good luck Sir
I like that you can jump and melee without ever taking your thumbs off the thumbsticks, but I still won’t use it because I got too many years of Halo 3 default and Halo Reach recon.
Went from Default Halo 2 controls to Bumper Jumper in Halo 3. It took about a week before I was back to Normal but I’m so glad I made the switch now!
Awesome, looks like Bumper Jumper is a trusty scheme after all, and a nifty acronym to boot.

i as the same way when i changed from default. but after a couple days of playing h3 ive never looked back…
infact i actually change my controller settings for skyrim, boarderlands, and any other game that i can custom configure because i can not play a game that has me controlling a single character w out bj.

This. I was thinking of getting the Razer Sabertooth for that reason and the ability to increase the joystick resistance. But $80 is pricy with a new xbox coming out later.
I’ve thought about bumper jumper but hate that the reload is on B.
I hate Bumper Jumper. I’m perfectly fine with using A to jump since I have quick fingers and A has been jump since the NES, so it feels kind of weird using anything else.
