here is a screen of what the layout would be
The big problem here being, and I’m not sure if you noticed, that armor ability is on the left trigger. The problem with that is that grenade is delegated to X. Personally, and i hope others agree with this sentiment, I would just like those 2 switched. It seems simple enough and something that could be done at this stage of development.

(and hopefully, even if it isn’t changed, they just add either a new layout or, even better, make a “Make-your own layout”. But now im just fantasizing
Why did you even have to change anything? Make sprint “A”, and keep change grenade as the D-Pad. Nothing else had to be changed. I don’t want to press “X” to throw a grenade.
I don’t understand your logic.
It’s safe to say that the default IS the best way to play Halo 4. So 343 can use their cortana-web to make the default the best even if it doesn’t align with comfort zones. However the bumper jumper loadout was, I think, always meant for that one guy who likes to jump shoot. In that sense, it is for that group’s comforts. In that spider-sense I think we can give up using AA and sprint at the same time (as it seems the only logical reason why the change was made) to have a more reactive grenade button. It is like Halo Reach, where Bumper Jump users sacrifced efficient jetpack use to be able to have their metaphorical baby back.
Once again, it would probably be a simple change.

It’s not what i want. The X button being used to throw a grenade is in the current version of Halo 4. that image was taken from game play footage.
I want that X to trow grenade left trigger for AA to be reversed.
The reason why AA can’t be a face button, but sprint can is b/c Sprint is “click once to enable” and “click again to disable” unlike Reach where it was “hold to sprint”. This means that someone can easily move their thumb from the face button to enable it, move back to the stick to control their direction, and then back again when they want to disable it. AAs are differnt b/c certain ones like thruster pack or hardlight shield (and probably others we don’t know about yet) are likely going to need to be held down, thus requiring both thumbs to be on the sticks to control your direction.
The best way to fix this would be to make all AAs click to enable instead of hold to enable.
