Do you play with Bumper Jumper?
If yes tell me why and explain me whats so good about it.
I do. I use it because it was more comfortable in Halo 3 to jump and punch on bumpers instead of using the face buttons, compared to how often I need to aim while reloading and switching grenades, it was a fair trade. I got too used to it, and don’t want to go back to anything else.
It feels like it makes more sense to me. I like being able to jump and aim at the same time, as well as having the melee button on the bumper. I don’t find it necessary to aim while reloading (what are you going to shoot while reloading, anyways?) and I don’t use jet-pack too often, so having my armor ability set to the X button works well for me.
i dont get the part with jumping and aiming at the same time.
how long do you hold the jump button?
Same way you jump with the A button. Just tap it!

You have to remove your thumb from the right stick in order to reach A.
Why is this in the matchmaking forum?
the fact that bumper jumper didnt end up being the most revolutionary thing to come out of halo 3 is just astonishing to me. as soon as i started usiing it i fell in love so to speak and have sense wondered why it isnt default not just in halo but in all fps’s instead of the horrible COD controls where its left trigger aim and a for jumping

Probably because that’s where it belongs…

In COD, you can only jump a few inches and climb over stuff. So it wouln’t really be useful.

Jumpshotting in CoD is actually really useful. Not as much as it was in the CoD2 days, but it still really effective in getting the “Jump” (pun intended) on someone, and throwing off their shots for a second.
Most people probably struggled to get used to using Bumper Jumper at first, but then it becomes second nature, and then default seems alien
Bumper Jumper allows you to melee and jump without removing your thumbs from the move or aim thumbsticks. The former helps with CQC, while the latter helps with strafing while shooting (outside of Reach, where strafe inertia makes strafing less effective).

I don’t, I use Boxer too!
I’ve been using the Bumper Jumper button configuration for ages and I think it’s great as I don’t have to remove my thumbs from the move or aim thumbsticks while in battle.
I decided to give it a try about 6 months ago. It took a little bit to get used to at first, but then it just got really easy. Being able to look around while jumping makes you that much harder of a target to hit, and it also helps to be able to melee. Now, if you need to make a correction at the last minute, it is possible, while before you had to make sure you were dead on the target and if they moved you were screwed.
And since I only use Sprint, it’s not that big of a deal to have “X” as the ability button.
I don’t i play default
I use it. Unfortunately I am punished for using it in Reach, as I can’t really use Jetpack which is perfect for exploiting maps.

Just another way The Man is trying to keep us down.
