Bullpup Weapons

What’s the deal with every UNSC rifle being a bullpup design? The Assault Rifle, DMR, and Battle Rifle of all variants in all games and canon are all bullpups.

I guess that proves that bullpup guns are the most efficient in the future?

Bullpups are indeed very efficient. They have a good size-to-effectiveness ratio, due to having a much shorter overall length without sacrificing barrel length and therefore round velocity/effectiveness.

Plus the fact that the trigger group, bolt, and magazine are all located in the rear allows the rifle to be rear-heavy rather than front-heavy, which is a more ideal distribution of weight that increases weapon mobility and reduces user fatigue.

I think that all it is was a design choice chosen by Bungie during Halo CE, and then they stuck with it.

Honestly, it doesn’t matter and the animations look cooler (in my opinion).

EDIT: I mean seriously . . . think about it guys, the friggen charging handles are on the wrong side of the weapon too . . . that, AND the bullet casings still eject out of the right side . . . it’s all for the aesthetics.

It works best with the weapons designs. If it were real life I would prefer it to not be Bullpup but if it’s all about design bullpup looks better IMO.

Basically all this. Though I find reloading on a bullpup weapon is slower and more annoying.

Less recoil. More compact. What more could you ask for in a rifle? I love bullpups IRL. AUG, Famas, FN F2000. I think I just found where they get the inspiration for these guns. lol AUG=DMR. Famas=BR, FN F2000=AR. lol

One thing bothered about the universes bullpup weapons.

There is no ejection port on the left side of the guns. kind of like the aug styr how it can be used by left handed shooters as well as right.

…? no one is left handed in 500 years :frowning:

=.= In real life, you reload as quick as you can, in video games… it’s balance.
Bullpup weapons are just fine.

Bullpup allows for a more compact and efficient design. The sniper isn’t bullpup. Plus why are all the UNSC weapons made for lefty shooters? The breach should be on the other side of the weapon.

Bullpups allow for smaller profile weapons for equal results in a standard design.
The SAW isn’t bullpup because the weapon is designed FOR Spartans with its high RoF and DpH (for a human bullet) and as such the large ammo capacity demands a standard chassis-type with the R&D boys determining the drum barrel being better than a box for holding the SAW’s ammo and profile. This results in a longer weapon but as stated, the SAW is Spartan specific and meant to unleash a wall of tungsten (lead) period.

Yeah… I really love how the M240B can be configured to have belt fed from the right or left side, and the rounds/links out the other side.
But hey, My excuse for this problem is "when they designed the weapons for Halo, they didn’t design them for left handed people, only right handed people because that’s how the chief holds his weapon.

  1. Longer barrel= more accuracy due to more rifling.
  2. They are usually smaller in size allowing better mobility.
  3. Due to more rifling the velocity is increased therefore increasing damage.
  4. Less recoil due to the fact all the mechanisms are in the back making the weapon rear-heavy.

I was commenting on reloading in real life not in a game.

Left-handedness has been genetically engineered out of the human race.

Makes baseball easier.

The SAW isn’t bullpup.

The SAW is an LMG, not a rifle. I don’t think they make very many bullpup LMGs in real life.

Google it

I think they should make bullpup, clip loaded shotguns. It would make reloading a shotgun a lot easier imo.

back heavy = more painful gun-butt!
