Oh, you just want to completely morph the Matchmaking system that has been around since the beginning. That’s cool I guess, especially since this whole new thing with armor abilities is really neat and will add so much to MM too.

Oh sorry, maybe you can inform me on how else I am to interpret Frank’s quotation.

Good lord man its not like Frankie blantantly stated something like “yeah well we hate the old system so we’re just making an entirely new scoring and matching system”…

For all we know it could be super simple and just be a couple minor tweaks, sheesh.

And BTW, you can interpret it with a clear and open mind and hope for the best instead of just shooting the idea down immediately.

You people call yourselves Halo fans then just throw everything out the window at the 1st sign of something non-traditional. The guys working on this know what they’re doing…you havent even played it yet (neither have I) so give it a rest

I think it’s a whole new gametype, maybe there’s Slayer and then there’s Classic Slayer.

He pretty much did say that actually, without the “yeah well we hate the old system” part.

And I’m surprised anyone would find a Slayer gametype WON BY POINTS instead of kills a minor tweak.

You’re making pretty grand assumptions there, not to mention you left the part about “traditional matchmaking” still being in Halo 4. 0-50 Slayer variations will remain in matchmaking, yet new modes will be introduced, just like with any new game. Don’t worry. As for the part about “armor abilities”, it’s already been confirmed there won’t be any - at least like the ones seen in Reach.

Relax. Don’t be so quick to jump to conclusions about matchmaking aspects we hardly know anything about.

I dont remember him saying the’re entirely rehalling the old system? If so please point it out (honestly though do show me if its somewhere)

Besides they can just keep the old system along with new gametypes if they wanted

They never said it wasn’t still going to be kills it just takes more kills to win. OMG dude your so right what are us hardcore halo fans ever Going to do i mean slayer now lets you earn more kills which means longer games which means it’s harder to win cause there’s more time for the other team to make a comeback OMG what will we ever do halo is forever destroyed 0_0 sarcasm like really kid shut the -Yoink- up your so -Yoinking!- annoying and I think everyone agrees with me on that. I don’t see it as a problem honestly. So far, they’re capable of creating multiple gametypes that are around the same thing, but have a twist to it.

Chances are, the usual Slayer method is still around and may co-exist with this gametype, just as much as Stockpile and traditional CTF games co-exist in Reach.

It has the potential to completely change the way the game is played. It’s not “trivial”. For instance, if recent speculation is true and you win the game by reaching a score limit and score is derived from medals then it’ll be far more effective to purposefully allow one of your team mates to weaken an opponent so that they get an assist when you finish him off. This way you get a kill medal and an assist medal, which is worth more points than a kill medal alone. These things may appear trivial to players that refuse to play the game how it was intended and instead just run around blindly in hopes of finding an opponent and AR rushing them. Just sayin’.

Something you can easily change in customs and get put into the classic playlists they’ve already hinted you can have. I can go into Halo 3 right now and set the score counter to ten points per kill, with bonus point rewards for meelees, headshots and the like. Yet you’re not complaining about that are you?
