Bulletin TU news confirms DMR will...

…stay as is.

I have said along that the DMR will not be changed. The fact that no mention of it in the TU news conforms this. Read between the lines of what is said in the Bulletin and it does not take a genius to work out the DMR will stay as is, as it should.

Prior to the release of Halo 4, 343i spoke about how the AR, BR and DMR would function and the differences between each and performances at close, mid and long range. And, that is exactly how the weapons turned out post-launch.

While the BS needed changing, the DMR and other weapons don’t as they are as 343i staff intended them to be.

God -Yoink!- it

DMR stays as it should.

aw that’s bull -Yoink-…

The DMR isn’t the problem. Too much aim assist and bad map design is the cause of the problem. The DMR’s kill time isn’t even the fastest of a utility weapon in Halo history - it just happens that the DMR is the easiest of the utility weapons to use.

Short of fixing the inability to disable instant respawns, they aren’t doing much to improve the game.

And so the game falls even further.

Bye, Halo 4. It was nice knowing you. I’ll categorise you with MW3: ‘Games That Suffered From Leaving Weapons As They Are’.

How can they not see that the DMR is too strong?

While I would have liked to see the Carbine get more power, the DMR isn’t really an issue for me.

What is an issue is the melodramatic nature of the Title Update. It just seemed to be more of a “Halo 4 Maintenance” update rather than a real Title Update. I was really hoping to see some new Forge features or enabling Theater mode for Campaign and Spartan Ops. Or maybe allowing Flood to hold weapons in custom games…it’s still pretty shocking that 343 has sort of done away with custom infection gametypes.

I really like Halo 4 and I’m sure there will be lots of unrest in the forums tomorrow. I always root for 343 and I think they’re improving, but this update, aside from a few exceptions, was highly underwhelming.

Regardless of if the dmr should be changed or not many people on here think it should. Me personally, I think it’s fine. This forum is gonna be a war zone tomorrow once people see the title update contents and see that the dmr isn’t going to be nerfed.

NERF THAT BLOODY DMR 343, I AM BEGGING YOU!!!

Pretty please with a cherry on top…please. shows puppy eyes for further impact

cries tears of sadness

This just in on the Halo forums Incomplete list of TU changes creates uproar as commmunity again takes incomplete information into zones of perposterous outrage. DMR needs nerf though im still waiting for the TU ill still play even if it dosent get nerfed this TU.

We need to spam the hell out of DMR nerfs on the forums to get there attention.

David Ellis said the sandbox balancing issues will be addressed in the coming weeks.

While this is good, we now have to wait longer.

> While the BS needed changing, the DMR and other weapons don’t as they are as 343i staff intended them to be.

If this is the case and the DMR will remain as-is, then I lay the fault of the weapon imbalance on 343’s intended design vision rather than just on the weapons.

However from the very start 343 stated that the first of the major title updates (this coming one) would deal mainly with critical bug fixes and related issues, the next one would mainly be sandbox balancing/rebalancing. I’m keeping my hopes for that one.

This is a massive update that fixes a lot of issues including the Boltshot, which I feel is more important than the DMR. So I can wait a little longer for a DMR rebalancing.

They said that they’re still checking out Balancing issues, and how feasible it would be to resolve them.

It might change, it might not. At this point all you can do is guess.

Laughs manically

And, I bet that the feasibility trump card will be played for why the DMR will NOT be nerfed.

The DMR isn’t the problem. twitch is. De-Scope would severely limit the DMR and make a ton of weapons more competitive.

When I first read the Thread I was like “what the heck! You got to be kidding me” but the OP was just messing around thank God :). I can’t understand why people say it’s overpowered. it’s not. I been an online Halo player since Halo 2 and the Halo 4 addition makes a nice addition to the Halo series. So yeah there you go, the DMR is not going to change, deal with it people. Can’t believe you guys still haven’t adapted to players using the DMR, I’m close to Mastering the Assault rifle before the DMR master people!

And that’s why you have a .9 K/D and a 45% win rate.

Maybe you should be using the one decent weapon instead of the Assist Rifle
