The halo 4 CSR bulletin specifically said that join in progress would only occur during a small window in the beginning of the game when CSR was released. However, I have noticed no change in join in progress. Teammates still join midway through the game.
-Yoink-. I had just joined a game that was about to end and I was put on the losing Team. Because of that, I lost and had lowered in my CSR. 343 if you’re going to have a system that ranks you up by winning, then get rid of JIP! This should be common sense…
I’ve joined late games a couple of times. How long until this system kicks in?

Unfortunately, JIP and the one minute window only applies to the so called competitive team play lists.
The same old JIP applies with all the individual scored play lists.

Where did you hear that? In the Bulletin, it didn’t say anything about it being in specific playlists.
Several playlists have been updated with new Join-In-Progress parameters, such as Team Throwdown, which only allows players to join within a very small window before and during the first few moments of a match. We will continue to update other playlists with new JiP parameters that provide the most optimal experience for each playlist and game mode.

The best way to implement JIP in the W/L CSR playlists is to use the same system that’s used for Team Throwdown because like I said earlier, if I go into a game that’s about to lose in a playlist that goes off by W/L then it unfairly ruins my CSR.
I got on today for the first time in a week and played only one game. It was on Rumble Pit and it put me in after the game had started…
I even got first place anyway but I didn’t even rank up.
I just joined a game in progress in a CTF game and as soon as I showed up, the first thing I saw was the defeat screen. The game was already over before I even spawned and yet I still got the loss. I really hate this option in the game and I would much rather lose teammates and deal with it then have to deal with joining a match (ALWAYS LOSING) part way through almost EVERY SINGLE GAME. This one feature alone is making want to quit halo forever.
I just had the same problem. CTF in Castle DLC. The defeat screen was in my TV as soon as I joined. This also happens a lot in other playlists.
I had a funny one last night, we JiP’d into CTF down 4-0 and thought hey we’ll give it a crack to coming back on Simplex. Once the we had started the game we realised the enemy team was already running the 5th flag and the game ended about 8 seconds after we joined.
Funny stuff, I’d prefer that didn’t happen at all but we did hang around for another game or two after that. It was party vs. party from what we could tell.
