Bullet Magnetism...

Why is there bullet magnetism? It makes the game a frustrating experience! Is there any way for 343 to edit the bullet magnetism? Strafe is useless now, anybody can 5 shot perfectly without any practice, and it takes away from the fun! Who else thinks Bullet magnetism is the MAIN reason why this game is not that good? 343 if you are reading this please reduce the bullet magnetism because that is the ONLY reason why this game isn’t fun. Besides that its a solid game.

Also, At least a playlist with low bullet magnetism would be nice.

It’s necessary to some degree for any sort of consistent accuracy in a console shooter. I agree that H4 has too much, but bullet magnetism in itself is not necessarily bad.

Also, if you need to add something to a post, use the “edit” button in the menu under the post. I can tell you’re new here, so I just thought I’d help.

Bullet magnetism and any form of aim assist ruins shooters. Just look at what it did to CoD, because of aim assists people can quick scope because the game does the aiming for the player, turning it into a game where snipers run around the map, and SMG users hide in the corners out of fear. Do you really want this to be the fate of halo? Remove ALL aim assists before its too late.

I agree, if you take the aim assist off 1 weapon (example: the guasshog, and it should have been), then it should be taken off all other weapons, but when/if ever that happens then the target sights need to be redone (again using the guass hog as an example, the sight on this is a large retangle box, while this type of sight is good for a weapon from a future time that has a computer (aim assist) in it (which i thought this game was set in the future), For the type of precision weapon that it is, without computor/aim assist it should have a better sight then it has, enen just a circle type sight like the Machinegun turrent on the other hog. Another example is the sight on the railgun (like the gauss all you have to do is aim in the general direction of who you want to kill, when it turns red, fire and you have the kill)

B-b-b-but! But! But! But!
Shooting is HAAAAAAAARRRRD
:c

Without it gameplay would be to hard for playing with joypad. I played lot of Quake in my youth and I was always switching it off, but with mouse that was different gameplay and different feeling. Even Halo 1 had some degree of it, but it’s control is still a bit “stiff” for most people. In Halo 2-4 it works well in most cases. Only weapon which right now should be toned down with aim assist is DMR because it became awful, overpowered, noob-gun.

It’s okay, little Timmy! You can take Halo back and get COD instead. That game is nice and easy. :]

No but really, The bullet magnetism is disgusting in this game. Although, I have to attribute more problems to every weapon having hitscan. See, with projectile fire registration, the bullet magnetism is less of an evil because you still have to lead your shots and take distance into account and all that good stuff. Going back to Halo 3 last week made me realize how much more difficult and rewarding it was to play with it. Hitscan, along with the incredible bullet magnetism in this game, has killed the strafe and gave everyone a 5 shot. And it makes me sad.

People seem to think that Aim Assist and Bullet Magnetism is a bad thing. They aren’t.

When applied correctly (Halo 3), you get a game where it is barely noticeable.
When applied partially correctly (Halo 2), you have a game where they are too high, but the high paced nature of the game requires Aim Assist and Bullet Magnetism to be higher.
When applied incorrectly (Halo 4), you have a game where it is hard to distinguish who is actually a good player as everyone can 5-shot (Or however many shots require to kill).

I play Battlefield 3 on the xbox with no aim assist, you must understand that not all gamers can do that. I spent hours everyday trying to get used to no aim assist, eventually I adjusted. But in close quarters, I tend to be beaten more.

TL;DR Aim Assist and Bullet Magnetism is needed for the average player, but we must scale them appropriately.

Was playing Castle DLC and had a DMR bullet curve over a rock and hit me when I was one shot. Didn’t believe the killcam as always and went to theater. Yep, it has a super high magnetism.

When will they fix this? Will they ever? It is the main reason why I stopped playing.

The high levels of bullet magnetism, along from the terrible aesthetic, is what turned me off from 5. It’s also what’s draining my enjoyment of Reach on MCC.
