Bullet Magnetism

-playing on Xbox Series S-

i will continue to post about bullet magnetism lol. Because this game has none. Same with aim assist! That is all, we aren’t talking about bullet magnetism.

They definitely exist in the game albeit in a minimal capacity. As I’ve said in other threads, I think aim assist mechanics could use a slight increase, but I wouldn’t want anything drastic bc it already feels close to where it should be.

I tested it in weapon drill with the sniper and sidekick there isn’t any, unless it’s some kind of glitch. They should bump the aim assist and just a dash of bullet magnetism

where it should be = MCC

I haven’t tested the sniper, but I definitely saw some with my testing the Sidekick. As for where it should be, I think MCC levels would be too much. That was already very off putting for mnk players and even if some playlists are separated, others aren’t and those mixed playlists need to be viable.

MCC has way too much.

Aim assist is definitely in the game, and it’s fine. The problem is outside of red reticule range aim assist and friction is tuned to close to zero, and that means the side-kick is useless outside of really close range. And at that range, the AR is just easier to use and more effective.

MCC is a collection of every halo game since the series inception, except Halo 5. If you think it’s too much then you cannot have ever liked Halo in the first place. The way aiming with a controller in Halo feels literally defines the series, they pioneered aim assist and bullet magnetism mechanics.

That’s great and all, but the gaming environment is different now. The game is coming to PC with crossplay.

MCC to me tbh had a bit much but just seems like it’s wild they can’t figure out this aiming issue and bullet magnetism

Rip I know it’s going to PC but it’s started out at Xbox so help the controller people

The issue is a combination of no red reticle, very small reticles, and lower aim assist than previous titles. I think we are really underestimating how much the tiny reticles effects the aiming. I mean, even the warthog reticle is so small that it obscures targets at a medium to long range, as it no longer has the big hole in the middle to let you know where the bullets are going. And the sniper reticle is by far the tiniest it has ever been, basically have to squint to see it.

Yes! The warthog reticle was ridiculously small it was awkward, don’t know why they are changing these random somethings that wasn’t broken

I think in regards to the gaming environment being different now, that is why people are so annoyed that Halo is looking to be just another low ttk twitch shooter. If people want that, they can just play Valorant, or CoD, or any other of the dozens of shooters out there. The reason people like MCC so much, and it has a good sustained playerbase, is because there are a large amount of gamers who don’t like how sweaty shooters are these days. A lot of people just want to chill and shoot stuff and have fun without getting stomped because they aren’t completely optimized in every way, and practice their aim for 2 hours a day. I definitely see why the pros and people who like twitch shooters enjoy how Infinite feels right now, but for the majority of long term Halo fans, the outcry has made it clear that this is not the right direction for them. IMO, if it really needs to stay how it is, only have it this way for HCS and tournaments and such, but let the base game and especially social playlists feel more like legacy Halo shooting. Sorry for the long reply.

It’s because they really want the game to be big in the competitive scene, which means mimicking games like Valorant or Rainbow. Unfortunately, I would say that the vast majority of long term Halo players definitely do not want Halo to go that route, and I don’t know that we can get 343 to change their minds about it at this point. The only thing we can do is keep posting.

Also the fact that this game will be free to play, should give them more of a push to go to the social side of things. I love competitive shooters. I will definitely be one of those sweats in this game but, I have tons of friends looking forward to this game. And halo will have tons of new players, that player base will drop after a few months if something doesn’t change

Keep posting all day 24/7 about the aim assist bullet mag loss of red reticle range bugs causing aiming issues hit reg all of it cuz it need to be heard it the biggest issue I don’t really care about any other issue at the moment because this is detrimental to the game…… I’m not gunna have another H5 on my hands. I repeat I will not …

We don’t need any more billet magnetism. I would be incredibly upset if they increased that in this game. I would advocate for a slight increase in AA instead.

Game will be DOA for the PC player base if this occurs.

There is a slight aim assist for sure happening. I could feel it in comparison to the first flight. Was it enough, I’m unsure. The hit boxes are very small, combined with extremely tiny reticles. If 343 don’t want to add more aim assist, it might be worth compromising on some sort of bullet magnetism. Either way this will be an area of strife going forward for console and PC players unfortunately.
