Bullet Magnetism

If this game is supposed to be the most competitive Halo ever, why is there so much bullet magnetism? I can’t count how many times I’ve missed shots with my BR or DMR and still got a perfect. The sniper even has absurd bullet mag, 343i what on Earth are you doing? ALl this does is make me mad because if a bad player outguns me I can only assume bullet mag was in their favour. Please try to tone down the mag, A LOT. The game is supposed to be hard and skill-based, people should work for their kills not have it handed to them on a silver platter. I want to see Halo 5 have a huge skillgap like Halo 3 and Halo Reach MLG v7. Did you learn nothing from Halo 4 and Halo 2 Anniversary? Too much bullet mag is bad for you kids.

Im agree. But nobody care about it, people love 343 garbage aim.

Halo 5’s aim assist is weak compared to other Halo games

I think the weaker aim assist paired with the bullet magnetism makes a good balance

But wouldn’t you rather have to earn your kills? What’s the point of a perfect medal, if your aim was not perfect…

Aim Assist =/= Bullet Magnetism

Seriously though this game is by far the easiest Halo to snipe with and I have seen bullets miss their mark by more than a foot and still land… mind you these are my bullets and others.

The aim assist is perfectly fine. It’s the bullet mag that is an issue, it’s absurdly strong!

It’s just annoying because if you snipe someone, it literally feels like a common occurrence, you feel no sense of accomplishment, perfect medals mean nothing and if someone shoots you first it’s practically impossible to outstrafe that impossible bullet mag.

You mean hitboxes… the bullets travel in a straight line

Just gonna say this, but I’d bet you’re in the minority on this. People like kills, no matter how they got them. But I see where you’re coming from, and can agree to some extent.

Compare the bullet mag to the level of sticky reticle, sticky reticle in previous Halo’s was way higher, bullet mag gives you the aim assist without dragging your recticle as much.

play h4 and then go back to h5. They drastically tuned it down. The only weapon which needs a fix is the sniper rifle

It was perfect when the game launched, but too many people complained they were getting owned by the Magnum. Wussies!

oh man I’m pretty disappointed now I know that I suck even more

I’ve thought the same thing. Basically if you aim below the neck/upper chest it register as a perfect headshot. There’s definitely quite a bit of magnetism. Although I’ve always had to learn to aim LOWER than I feel like I should for every Halo game. But ya…

I’m not convinced that they need to change it, but I have had plenty of moments where I’m like “really? That was a headshot?” especially in snipes.

No it’s bad with a lot of weapons, especially the BR omg the BR is notorious for it, you can miss all of your BR shots and still get a perfect. Try it yourself. And the bullets do curve, you can see the tracer move out of the cross-hair to land their mark.

I lmao off when I hit to far to the left/right or a chest shot with a Sniper and it is counted as a headshot. Rarely use it anyways.

Bullet Magnetism is literally aim assist. A computer controlled process adjusts the direction of your bullets, despite your aim being off target. It literally assists you with aiming.

The level of bullet magnetism in Halo 5 is kind of a joke, and has really hurt the core intrinsic value of FPS point-and-shoot game play. The overall aiming core of Halo 5 is abysmal. Not only is the process of aiming unintuitive, be it the precision aiming zone causing the reticle to become an unresponsive heavy weight, or the aim acceleration lurching the reticle unexpectedly, but even if you do manage to overcome Halo 5’s aiming mechanics, the bullet magnetism takes away any real value of actually aiming well. In Halo 5, you slosh your reticle near someone, and bullet magnetism takes care of the rest.

I have to agree with you, OP. Can’t count how many times I’ve seen bullets whiz by me and still kill me, or where a half-second after I’m behind a huge wall or something I die from the guy shooting at me. I mean, sure, I’ve gotten kills with it myself, but I feel like my skill is degrading. If I go back and try to play Halo 3 I bet my aim will be off.
