Bullet Magnetism making Multiplayer easier?

In case no one knows what bullet magnetism is, it’s almost like auto-aim times 2. To compensate for lag, bullets will “curve” towards the enemy. The more lag, the more magnetism. In my opinion it sounds like the more lag you have, the better your aim will be even if not on the target. Magnetism has been in all the Halo’s as far as I can see but never as bad as it is in Halo 4. Halo 3 and Reach I recall had few people in matches that could hit you with all the required hits to kill someone. Halo 4, snipers are difficult to cross without them instantly being able to headshot you, DMRs take little skill to kill someone at long range (and I understand that’s its purpose, but it’s a little ridiculous.) If you’ve ever had one of those moments where you kill someone long range and you clearly knew that it shouldn’t have hit them is due to this. I love Halo 4, and whether 343 is reading this or not, I’d like to have some other opinions from people that have played the game a fair bit since it’s launch.

less responsive strafe + aim assist + bullet magnetism = lmfao

Bullet magnetism was at the worst in Halo 2. It was possible to swipe-snipe in that game due to that, and the large hitbox.

While I do agree that I’d much rather have it boil down to just aim, we do not live in a world where the Internet does not lag.

It’s a double edged blade. Without it, we’d know who’s best. Without it, we wouldn’t be able to hit each other in laggy games. Too much, like in Halo 2, is a bad thing, but too little is not good either in Online console gaming.

The opposite is also true.

Its making it harder for skilled players. Strafing is almost pointless, beginners with bad aims are getting hits they were nowhere near, and thanks to the rather anoying map layouts and weaponry atm, snipers and DMR’s are all the rage.

Eh…Halo 2…

I want to see a vid comparison, cause I think Halo 4 is worse, I mean online multiplayer was new then so meh, but whats the excuse now.

And the fact that there’s a delay for hits to register on your screen means that first shot inevitably wins most of the time. In my experience its about 75% on both sides.

Watch the DMR here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RWaDwsGb1c0

Keep in mind that this is LAN, with lag the effect can be even greater.

Halo 2 had the most magnetism, before Halo 4. And it wasn’t as detrimental.

I gotta say, I’m a LOT better at 1v1 with a DMR than I EVER was in Reach. I can generally kill someone at 50m or so consistently without being scoped in, and its usually a headshot when I’m just aiming for center mass…I daresay I get as many headshots scoped in as I do without, and I CLEARLY didn’t hit them in the head. :-/

That said, it makes it easier for me so I don’t mind. XP

I’ve only posted this because I remember when Halo 3 was actually a headshot counted as a headshot. Reach I loved. My favorite weapon was the DMR mainly because i got the pace down and again headshots were headshots. I really don’t care about K/D, but mine maxed at 3 in Halo 4. After that I ended up despising the DMR, and i hate using it because it just feels to easy. Bullets will hit them in the head and i wont even be aiming anywhere near their head. Snipers are to hard to get rid of because flinch rarely matters if they get the shot off before the full effect kicks in. It just gets aggravating when you strafe and the enemies hitting you like your standing still. DMRs have to miss twice before i can get the 5 burst off required to kill someone, and its nearly impossible to do that with all of the degree of the aiming assists in halo 4.

Here’s a link to a video about magnetism, but also keep in mind this effect increases with more lag: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RWaDwsGb1c0

Doubt that it is as bad as Halo 2. You have to be pretty close compared to Halo 2 to hit somebody.

Again, it’s to help compensate the lag one could receive when playing Halo 4, especially since the connection is not coming from a server.

Granted, servers can lag, but compared to Player-to-Player connections, it would be the most overall stable choice.

Autoaim in this game is a shame. What happen with skill and my own aim??
And magnetic bullets?? LOL Its Matrix now
