I mean, I feel like this is self explanatory. But essentially the bullet mag is so strong that if someone shoots you first, 9/10 times you’re dead. Even if you’re a substantially better player than them, there’s little room for counterplay. In past Halo games you could do a 180 turn after getting shot in the back and outskill your opponant. But the insanely reliable weapons with heavy mag makes that nearly impossible. Half the challenge is getting your crosshair on target to begin with (Due to how unintuitive and sluggish the aiming system is in 5), once you have the initial bullet mag, you have such a huge advantage it’s insane. Essentially turning the game into a COD-Style “He who shoots first, usually wins” Even if it’s a gold vs Onyx type of skillgap.
Heck, I don’t even know why the BR is a thing, you can sweep past their head super fast, be nowhere near them, and somehow all 3 bullets will just mag to their head and bleed-through kill a weak player. It’s disgusting and insane.
For Halo 6 I am hoping to see a much more skillful shooting system. With minor aim assist and next to 0 bullet mag. (Why on earth automatics like the AR, SMG, Storm Rifle or even Brute rifle also have bullet mag is beyond me)
In past Halo games if someone AR’s me first, I could be rewarded for being the more skillful player by 5’ing them with the DMR (Reach). But in this game there’s no counterplay, there’s just accepting death and trying to do as much damage as you can before you die, or at least trying for a BS trade. It’s honestly boring. It’s at the stage where if someone shoots you first, there’s no fighting back, just run… Heck, the mag is so strong that even putting your back to them with your head down does absolutely nothing. It’s as if your head is made out of a giant magnet with a bullseye on it…
Also, why the hell does the Ar / SMG have a headshot multiplier? Are you nuts 343?! In what world were you living in when you thought that was a good idea? RNG headshots to reward automatic use?!

Yea it’s pretty clear they wanted the autos to be ridiculous. Between autos and spartan charge I just can’t play arena unless it’s BTB I just don’t find it fun. Guess I’m a casual since I like warzone assault with actual gun battles
Only specific weapons have higher magnetism than the rest, namely the Halo 2 Battle Rifle, the CE Magnum, anything with a Laser Targeter attachment, and even the Splinter Turret (from personal experience in Firefight).
Even then, having a simple red reticle can still inflict untold damage among weapons that are hitscan, or have tracking abilities.

> Definitely to lower the skill gap and make the game more accessible. Really takes a lot away from the game when a toddler looks like Huke
You understand how contradictory that statement is right? Huke came into the halo scene in halo 5. For you to say that a toddlers plays like Huke then you mentioning Huke because he is a standout player, really good. But if anyone can play like Huke your also stating then Huke isn’t standout so why are you mentioning him. Get it? Your comment makes no sense. Also with all respect due. 1v1 me and you see that not everyone is good at the game. If you are good and we are close then 1v1 someone with much lower skill and then see the disparity in score. I’m not saying this to challenge you, I’m just saying that this game has a really high skill gap and I’m willing to back it up.
Bullet magnetism is not even as bad as people claim, with how fast halo 5 plays its literally nothing. Now if halo 3 or something had the same thing then i would agree.
Being shot first does not guarantee that person the kill, if that was the case everyone would be around the same skill level.
Bullet magnetism is indeed way to strong. Look at the skill gap which is now almost non existent. Even the pros complain during streams about how everybody literally is sweaty and have amazing shots. 343 lowered the skill for every gun. Only thing that separates players now in this game is map movement and decision making. Why do you think people challenge literally everything in this game.

Umm the pros play other onyxs and champs who do have good shots. Arena in halo 5 is naturally competitive so of course they’re going to say it’s sweaty. I encourage you to find clips proving this insane amount of bullet magnetism.

Do you a analysis report on Halo 5 bullet magnetism compared to other Halo games? I’m actually quite curious on the bullet magnetism on Halo 5 compared to all the other Halo games.

I have a few links but I don’t have time now. I get them to you sometime throughout the day.

Halo 2’s bullet magnetism. Probably right next to halo 4 in terms of bullet magnetism. While the video isn’t the highest quality, you can still get the picture.
Halo 3’s bullet magnetism. Many just say “that’s not bullet magnetism, that’s just random spread.” If you look around the 40 second mark, you can definitely tell that’s bullet magnetism.
Halo 5’s bullet magnetism part 1 and part 2. While there are guns like the Carbine and Halo 2 BR that have more magnetism than others, overall halo 5 doesn’t have too much. Many also forget to factor in reticle sizes. Halo 5’s are substantially smaller than their halo 2/3 counterparts. Just take one look at the Carbine reticles and you’ll see how much smaller halo 5’s is. The smaller reticle gives the illusion that halo 5 has more magnetism than it actually does, and when comparing it to older titles, it has substantially less.

> Plus strafe is really ineffective on all the over scaled maps. Basically you get a one time use strafe (Thruster Pack) which briefly prevents you from shooting. Also automatics should not kill as fast or faster than precision weapons in competitive Halo! The AR is easier to use therefore it should kill slower than the magnum however in most cases they just charge you with AR and if you have the Magnum out, it’s not like you can out-shoot them with skill, you just die from a very low-skill weapon and it is frustrating. You barely get any time to react with weapons like the SMG or Storm Rifle.
>
> This is another example of how enhanced mobility kills Halo. Because of the potentially fast speeds players can reach, weapons are made easier to use to compensate however the majority of engagements are happening at slower speeds as you can’t shoot while moving max speed. This means that basic engagements are fought with weapons that are easier to use than they ought to be in those situations. The only things that drags fights out for me is the broken aiming system.
How is strafe ineffective? Try going a match without strafing and see how you do. Also, the automatics do kill slower than precision weapons at medium range. They’re just useful now.

If they already Spartan Charged you then of course you’re going to lose when holding a Magnum. You’re in a close range situation against someone pointing a close range weapon at you while you have no shields. Like how else is this expected to go down? You could have a SAW in that situation and you’d still lose more often than not.
