I understand the principle whenever members mention any of the subject terms.
However, can anyone please calmly explain to me the difference between the three of them?
Thanks.

Aim assist = Reticle slightly tracking the opponent when moving over them.
Bullet Magnetism = Bullet slightly curving toward the opponent.
Hitscan = If you shoot a bullet, it instantly hits. Different from Projectile, where the bullet has travel time, and has to physically touch the opponent before a hit is registered.
I am not the best when explaining things.
Bullet Magnetism: When the reticle is red, the shot will hit. The bullets are magnetized to the enemy.
Aim assist: Easy to see by doing this: Aim at an enemy, then have someone sprint across your line of sight and see your reticle follow the second player across the screen a few inches. Essentially, the game is helping you to aim at what you’re trying to hit.
Hitscan: Means that when the trigger is pulled, the bullet automatically connects, like with the DMR. Non-hitscan weapons, like the light rifle, have to lead their targets if they are moving, since the bullet has to travel through actual space as a projectile.
Hope that helps.
Bullet magnetism = If a shot it fired the game will draw the bullet near the enemy if it’s close enough. So if the reticle is red even if you’re slightly off target the bullet will be drawn in.
Aim Assist = Common implementation in FPS console games. It’s how much the game will assist your reticle at following your target. The enemy will have assisted aim making it easier, however aim at a team mate and you’ll notice it’ll be much harder to hit them.
Hitscan = When shot is fired there is no bullet travel time. If you fire the bullet will instantly hit whatever it’s aimed at. Basically you won’t have to lead you’re shots even at the longest of distances because the bullet hits immediately. Most people prefer this because it’s better with online latency problems.
If you want to see aim assist in action play any spartan ops mission where you would use a turret. When an enemy crosses in front of whatever youre shooting at the reticule will be drawn to the closer enemy. As for bullet mag, just go on youtube.

Aim Assist: The Reticle tracks the target for you to help keep your aim on them.
Ex: You aim your reticle on the player. As he moves, the game will automatically follow him slowly so long as the reticle is red.
Bullet Magnetism: More magnetism= bullets travel more towards the target when the reticle is off.
Ex: Aim a reticle slightly away from a character, and pull the trigger. If you are close enough, the bullet will hit the character, instead of the intended wall.
Hitscan: The bullet will travel instantly towards its destination, regardless of the distance there is in between the starting point and the destination.
Ex: Player A is going to shoot at a wall that is 10 feet away, while Player B will hit a wall 100 feet away.
When they both shoot their wall, Player B’s bullet will take the exact same time to hit the wall(that is 100 feet away) as Player A’s bullet(that hit a wall 10 feet away).
Thank you all for the explanations. Try all seem so closely related it is difficult to grasp the difference between them.
Your explanations help. I guess I better stop trying to lead my shots on precision weaponry except for the light rifle.
Where does the sniper, beam, and binary rifles fit into to these combinations of AI assistance?
