- while the bullet is spining torward master cheifs helment. if you pause the video the bullet has many words. ive noticed only 3.- ONI- HERO- TRAITOR- shout out to the person that reminded me of this in my older post
I can’t make out many of them myself. just got traitor and hero.
yea, ive been trying to find more but i only found the letter “i” by itself. their might be a whole sentence in there
- two more I found- gods - demons
The Chiefs helmet breaks down after being hit with the Bullet. This could symbolize the Chief facing a mental breakdown during Halo 5, His own Rampancy if you will.
If that is the case, What if the words on the Bullet, ‘Hero’ and ‘Traitor’, Are Chief’s thoughts? Him questioning if he’s a Hero or a Traitor to Humanity? After all, Chief is ‘Questioning everything’ as Bonnie Ross stated.
Actually, If the Bullet was fired by Locke, What if it’s Locke who is asking Chief if he’s a Hero or a Traitor? Constantly trying to get an answer from him? Eventually leading Chief into a Breakdown.
The Sniper Rifle could be a Symbol for Locke hunting down the Chief.
The Bullet representing Locke’s question; “What are you John? Hero, Or Traitor?”
And that Question (The Bullet), Breaks the Chief down. Because he doesn’t know what he is anymore.

This…actually sounds about right…honestly.

yea might be right. my only doubt is what do they mean by gods and demons.
every word might stand for a person or species
gods=forunners
demons=flood or mastercheif
hero=master cheif
traitor=master cheif or Halsey
ONI=locke

The wholes Gods and Demons things could be a parallel between the Humans and Forerunners.
The Forerunners were once ‘Gods’. The Flood were the ‘Demons’.
Who was the Hero or Traitor? Mendicant Bias. Who was sent to stop Mendicant Bias? Offensive Bias.
Now, It could be said that Humanity are the new ‘Gods’.
The Forerunners or Flood could potentially be the Demons.
The Chief is a Hero or Traitor. Who was sent after the Chief? Agent Locke.
Gods = Forerunners/Humans
Demons - Flood/Precursors?
Hero or Traitor = Mendicant Bias/Master Chief
The one sent to stop them = Offensive Bias/Locke
So where does the difference lie? Potentially is comes down to whatever Johns actions are. Does he give into the Demons temptation? Or does he resist them and over come the odds with the aid of Locke.
Does Chief become a Hero for the Gods, Or a Traitor to them?
I think “gods and demons” is far simpler than allegory for various species. The Spartans were basically known as “gods” on the battlefield; the Chief especially. Yet they were also called “demons” - the Chief especially - by the Sangheili. So the question there boils down to is the Chief a demon or a god?
so, if what we think is true. This brings us back to the question is master cheif a “Friend or a Foe” says the arbiter.
CHIEF BETTER NOT DIE!!! Because that is all I can get out of this trailer.
Holy crap, I watched that video and it gave me chills seeing the Master Chief’s helmet shattering. Does anyone notice a trend with Halo, where one game is cartoony and then the next is gritty and realistic? Halo CE was considered cartoony by a lot of reviewers, but Halo 2 was a lot more gritty and realistic. Similarly, Halo 4 was cartoony, and now Halo 5 is shaping up to be a gritty, dark story.

Halo 4 cartoony?? It had the darkest story in the series, barring except perhaps Reach.
Yeah, but it was bright and colorful. That is what I meant. Halo 5 so far isn’t as colorful. I wasn’t talking story.
These forums are so helpful sometimes.

Thats pretty deep. I like it. it makes a lot of sense. Chiefs never really failed before.

I’ve always found the Halo games to be a mix, you have lighthearted moments like when the Grunts run away yelling and then you had really dark moments like the Flood, I’ve always loved that it has that blend.

that is pretty common in trilogy’s. A new hope was lighthearted, empire. Strikes back was dark and return of the Jedi was lighthearted again. You can see that trend in the original halo trilogy. As well.

Honestly I find halo 2 is the most cartoony in the franchise. Anything that could possibly brand H:CE as cartoony was still in halo 2.
