Bullet Eaters

That’s what the enemies in Warzone FF are. If they got armor or shielding, then you’re gonna need a lot of time and bullets to take them down. Its hard to say firefight is fun when it takes 3 good seconds just to down a single soldier. Worse still, the enemies aim better than some players! The constant dying because higher tear enemies are better in every way got real stale real quick.

I’m fine with AI being a good shot (within reason of course) but yeah, the health values feel a little bit ramped up.

Maybe it’s just a perception thing because we see so many AI that we expect them to die faster? I remember Soldiers being annoyingly tanky on Heroic, and Legendary was a nightmare.

Very true… way hard… not sure if i want to keep dying… lol

Yeah, it doesn’t feel like we are Spartans in firefight, more like naked humans with nerf guns… I thought we were supposed to be Super Soldiers? Feared among our enemies, not laughed at and stomped into the ground by grunts and crawlers.

Warzone bosses have been like that forever. Why is this now just a thing?

Yeah, but if you think about it, there are 8 of you and hundreds of enemies. The fact that we are able to win is amazing! Spartan IV’s are just like the Spartans of old, a small number fighting an impossible battle.

He’s talking about the other enemies. I like that the bosses are tanky, but every other enemy is a a sponge that eats bullets and shoots death beams.

The Prometheans are the worst enemy because of that.

We win by sniping the enemies or popping in and out of cover shooting and recharging shields… You know, Pillar tactics, extremely cheesy but it works I grant you that.
But it shouldn’t have to be a required tactic to win.
Also, getting stomped by 3 grunts is not something a Spartan would ever be, yet it is a thing in firefight. It would be like a Spartan of old getting stomped by 3 standard infantry Persians… Would neeeever happen.

They were tanky, but they still went down without eating up 2/3rds of a BR mag.

They should either tweak how much time we get per round or drop the health values a bit. Then again it is Warzone so they did this intentionally so we use our high-valued REQs to win (and of course working as a team). Either way, I’m having fun with this mode, win or lose. It’s fun

Those Jackals, snapshotting me everytime

I don’t use REQs in this. When you spawn it’s accross the map. I would spawn in a chaingun but it would be pointless.

Its fun… until you have to defend a base from Prometheans. My issue mainly goes to the Prometheans. Their main tactics are swarming with numbers and using homing bullets. Pair that up with thick armor, and players have a really bad time pushing them back.

yeah the promethean’s are a real pain. the only matches I’ve lost are when the final round was promethean bosses. I only won one match with prometheans because we managed to kill the final warden at the last second.

It will just come down to how skilled you are. Sure the enemies might have cheap aim, but it is not like you are bunkered down in a small area anymore (excluding defending the armory). The majority of the objectives require you to shoot something. For example, think back when there was Skirmishers in the FF in Reach. Some of them had Needle Rifles, and they had really good aim. And now we have soldiers with Light Rifles. Only more abundant, and some objectives require you to kill them. I only think it is fair they have good aim. After all, we would breeze right through them if they can’t defend themselves.

Aim is fine and dandy. Its the fact that they statistically outperform the players themselves in almost every aspect. They have better armor, stronger guns, par aim, and outnumber the players 15:1, and time is on their side. The only advantage players have is being smarter than them. Something has to give, and I’d prefer it was their obscenely strong armor.

Agreed. I hope they find a way to drastically improve enemy AI to make them challenging and balance them against spartans. At the moment they’re balanced as giant bullet sponges against 8 people running around with powerful REQs.

Admittedly a very hard thing to balance, but bullet sponge enemies are never the answer.

Yeah. These enemies remind me of a mix of Halo 2 and Halo 3 Brutes. Soldiers have the armor mechanics of Halo 3 Brutes, but with even more health. The Knights remind me of Halo 2 Brutes with their small crit boxes and huge health pools.

Sadly, 343 can’t think of any other way to make a PVE experience challenging besides making all enemies into bullet sponges.

Honestly, I thought everything they did for Firefight was smart EXCEPT THIS.

Long respawn timer? Fine. I deserve it for dying.
Low REQ level? Probably should have killed more.
Tough bosses? They’re frigging bosses!
Deadshot enemies? That’s actually pretty realistic.

Beefy infantry? HOW THE -YOINK- AM I SUPPOSE TO PROGRESS?! I SIGNED INTO THE SPARTAN IV PROGRAM SO I WOULD BE STRONGER THAN THE COMMON BADDY!! NOW I’M JUST A MARINE WITH A SHIELD AND JETPACK AT THIS POINT!!!
