I am curious about one thing that has probably not been discussed here yet. What do you think? halo infinite will have ball drop (ballistics). I think that would be very cool and it would be much more interesting to play with a sniper rifle
I think it is necessary for BTB to balance these long range encounters, in my opinion.
I think applying brute weapons should have bullet drop for sure. But putting it on UNSC weapons makes Brute weapons feel less unique. I prefer the tried and true “it’s just not accurate enough to be effective at that range” method of the BR over the DMR. Which is why I don’t want the DMR to return.
For snipers I just want them to stop holding the player’s hand so much. In CE and 3 the sniper was legitimately difficult to use even at long range, which is why knocking the sniper out of scope with BR/magnum pot shots was a strong defense against a camper.
Bullet drop would be an interesting mechanic to include. I don’t think most maps will be large enough to even facilitate the need for bullet drop unless they have some truly enormous BTB/Warzone maps. I would much rather see projectile style bullets ala Halo 3 before bullet drop but if they could make both work in a way that feels good and feels like Halo then I’m all for it.

That’s a really good summary. I especially like it as a way to differentiate Brute weapons
I doubt bullet drop is likely to be in Halo Infinite. I would however like to see most of the weapons actually shoot projectiles and require leading shots for moving targets, especially at longer distances.
you guys are right. However, if there are any larger maps, it would be very useful to get the bullet down, not that you have 400-500m to shoot and the bullet arrives in one moment and you do not need to pay attention to any corrections: D. I also think that if they want to do something like “battle royale”, this bullet drop must be added, after all, if someone has a sniper rifle, he will go to some hill as far as possible and have easy frags. Bullet drop would be interesting to see, for BtB I would love to see it because BtB with precision weapons is usually just someone behind cover or a rock for most of the game, and if they do move around on a more open map they get lit up by the whole team, while bullet drop and non hitscan would lead to it requiring more skill especially for the sniper rifle which is so easy to use and stand back with. At least have it as a option for a custom game or something like that to see how it does and how people respond to it.
