I will agree with you on the point that the Bulldog is not a bad shotgun. However, in my opinion, it definitely feels like a step down from the M90. I also applaud your reference to DOOM. They truly do feel different and that is okay with me.

That being said, I will reserve my full judgement of this weapon until I see how effective it will be when Infection inevitably comes to the game. How balanced will it be? Will your opinion of its standing when compared to the Energy Sword hold true when the feedback from Infection begins to trickle in? How much agency will it have?

These are some of the questions that I am going to ponder until that time comes.

What can I say, it felt an apt comparison.

Thing is it was designed for Arena. I’m very certain they will add the old shotgun alongside Infection. But even if they don’t… Then if you want a classic experience, the closest we can get is the Heatwave, which is honestly a pretty cool alternative. It reloads one cell at a time, just like the old shotgun. The Bulldog will beat swords just fine though, in Infection, because Zombies are not shielded. So it won’t matter.

As you may. My concern is the balance of the core game, personally. Things like Infection are wholly secondary to my concerns.

I definitely like the tighter sandbox that they’re working with, but the classics are the classics specifically because people liked them. I’ll definitely survive without something like the SMG, or the Plasma Repeater (don’t get me started on the Storm Rifle.) , but the Plasma Rifle, Carbine, and Shotgun are fan-favorites.

I don’t think you’re focusing on the right part of what I’m saying. Both the heatwave and the shotgun reload one [ thing ] at a time, but that doesn’t mean you should do Infection with the heatwave and call it a day. The heatwave is a special gimmick weapon and not a pure shotgun. People don’t want a bunch of particles everywhere in infection. That’s not what it’s about.

What do you mean “designed to kill flood”? That has nothing to do with Infection. Sure, in Halo 4 and Halo 2 Anniversary, the models of zombies were changed to look like the Flood, but infection isn’t about killing carrier forms quickly, or anything related to the flood at all.

If you were referring to the in-game “classification”, it is actually pretty funny. Both the Needler and the Sentinel Beam are referred to as SMGs.

It’s a shotgun. It should feel like a shotgun.
Target’s head encompasses the reticule, all pellets/flechettes hit target, target should be dead and pushed a couple feet back.

Reduce the range, reduce the accuracy, raise the damage a ton.

Period.

There can be no infection mode until we have a proper close-range, slow-fire-rate, 1 hit kill shotgun.

That’s actually funny almost hilarious about the sentinel beam cause its better against vehicles than people. I was more referring to function than in game class. The needler should be its own class anyway because its a mid-mid range weapon and has almost no homing inside close range.

At least some one sees the bulldog for the turd that it is.

I’m expecting it to be a shotgun in a halo game not a shotgun in a call of duty.

Oh yeah they did the shotgun was just that good, if you got on a map on Halo 3 for example where the best weapon is the shotgun no energy swords no hammers and you were a half decent player you can tactically stay alive for some time just because it was a one shot kill and it reloaded either one shell at a time or the whole chamber and you got something like 30-40 shells that was plenty for most half decent players who knew the map well to get a good 15- 20 kill streak even more depending on the lobby.

I’m still bitter about Gears 5. At launch that was so brilliant. Now it’s unrecognisable and terrible.

Well, apparently we’re never getting ranked slayer, so no point arguing over pure competitive viability of these guns anyway since they’ll always be linked to objectives we have no say in. Unbelievable.

I’m not convinced you have any idea how shotguns work. They should add a different shotgun, not maul this one. Y’all would still complain that it don’t look or reload the “right way”.

Function wise this shotgun is closer to MW2’s SPAS-12 than anything else in CoD, given its reach and accuracy.

I can’t tell if you’re being facetious. Ranked slayer means you have a slayer rank. That does not exist.

Previous games have included Ranked Arena, which we have. And Ranked Slayer, which we don’t.
