While I seldomly played Halo 2 I remember that it had a built in Clan system. Who wants this back?
Just a suggestion, something fun to throw around.

I do.
It was epic.
Oh yes! Clans were awesome. It’s part of what made custom games so accessible in Halo 2.
Maybe we can even build on the clan system?
Make specific gametypes for clans?
One that comes to mind is something along the lines of having clan members and being able to enter Clan Matchmaking?
Just an idea.
YES! Time for Active Roster to EVOLVE.
bring back the halo 2 clan system 343! PLEASE!

Ya, but there would have to be a system of keeping out randoms for these gametypes.
Like you have: 4v4 Clan Slayer and 8v8 Clan slayer and when you have that many people in your party than you can enter clan matchmaking but you have to be in your clan and you have to have enough people to play and no more.
It would keep track of your clans wins/losses, and global clan ranking. You would recieve a score too: One point every kill, and 50 extra points every time you win. Objectives are worth ten points.
Your Clan name and record would appear above your names:ie:
Clan name 1 Rank: #145
Player 1
Player 2
Player 3
Player 4
Clan name 2 Rank: #139
Player 5
Player 6
Player 7
Player 8
You would find matches based on your global rank.
What do you guys think?

A return of clanmatches would be nice. I never really got too into the clan playlist in Halo 2 but the option for it would be great.
For those who are unaware, Halo 2 had a playlist where two clans could basically battle it out for a unified clan rank. It was removed after 2 years, in '06.
To have a service record for the clan would be amazing.
Yes. Why would anyone disagree?
With the right options it would make Halo competitive again. It’s just what the doctor ordered. With a side of awesome maps.
For the love of god KEEP THIS THREAD ALIVE.
YES I AGREE 100000000 PERCENT.

I’ll try man, I can only bump so often.
Bungie never ruled it out for Reach but obviously decided against it. I never played much H2 multiplayer and I don’t understand why the clan stuff wasn’t continued?
Definitely. If Halo 4 winds up being an innovative and social game like Halo 1, 2, and 3, it practically needs this.
it would be cool if you could make a clan decal on your armour on like chest (yes i know emblem is there but you cant see it that well) if you could make a decal that would span a part of your armour thatd be pretty amazing!
A clan system would really encourage people to play. I like it.
Introducing Clan Wars
General Ideas
Players would organize themselves into clans and go into clan wars playlist as either a registered caln member or a Mercinary. Clans and their mercs (chosen at random, but must meet whatever requirements the clan selects) would then b pit up against one or more opposing clans, using mercs in the clans with less numbers to even the game out. Games consist f up to 50 players, with map sizes based on the amount of players, but generally large, as an 8 player game may be played on a map the size of Forge World and can take almost 45 minutes to complete the objective
The Map
Maps would be fairly large because it would require more teamwork, communication and alows for more strategic battles. Maps would, depending on size, contain 2 or more bases and many different routes to get there.
Gameplay
Players should be assigned different duties within the clan, such as demolitions, pilot, gunner and other user defined jobs. Equipment such as vehicles (including vehicles such as the Pelican and Elephant), extra weapons and healthpacks can be bought with clan credits which are earned from merely playing games, however a significant bonus is rewarded to the winner of the match. Each player earns credits and mercinary ratings for each game depending on proformance and the “Usefulness” review made by the clan’s present highest ranking member. Objectives may vary from capturing data, sabotaging the opposing bases and total domination over the other clan. When players are injured, they go down (as in -Yoink!- Zombies) and can be revived by official clan medics or by a player that has a med-kit with them. While down, they can be shot again to finis them or left to wait for help. Medics CANNOT heal themselves. A player may be down for up to 3 minutes. When a player does die, he is returned to the recruitment bay at his own base and loses anything he had collected in the feild, otherwise there is no penalty fo death, however, due to the size of the maps, this will still be quite the setback.
Tell me what you guys think, this is just what I thought of.
In-game clans always make games more fun. So I say yes, bring them back.
that would be so much fun guys we have to keep this thread alive
