Build and buy your own Halo game.

This might sound crazy but i say that in a Halo game players should be able to pick what they want in the game and get charged for what they want.

Like if someone doesn’t want Spartan Ops they could just cut that out of their purchase and get the game at a reduced price or if a player just wants Campaign and everything else is just something they will ignore instead of paying full price they will just have to pay whatever some of many that it is worth. Will all things people will get charged full price for the game. If you bought parts but you want to upgrade you could do it from XBL marketplace if you don’t play online then you should just get the full game in case friends come over but if you don’t have friends interested you know what to get.

This could also be a nice way to switch up MP such as making it so their are two different versions of MP. Infinity style mechanics and Classic/Reclaimer style mechanics. I see that as a perfect way to keep the Halo 3 anniversary fans happy while keeping Infinity fans happy. So if you don’t like the Infinity mechanics you could not buy them and if you have both at whenever you are searching for MP you could just alter your settings to show you both type of mechanic styles or just the one you are interested in.

So what do you think. Good or bad idea.

Well, there are always two sides in the industry.
The customer and the supplier.
While your suggestion would be profitable from the customer’s point of view it would be unprofitable for the supplier, in my opinion.

I mean, how should the developer be able to calculate the finance properly with such a system?
On what do you focus? Can you risk introducing and focusing on something new without making heavy losses when there is no demand for it afterwards?

Personally, I don’t see it work.

Sounds good for digital copies, would be a strange way to distribute CD’s though. Wouldn’t we need different Box/CD art to tell the different versions apart for one?

It’s what Capcom does already. Make half of the game DLC and you can pay if you want to play the rest of it. But not as one payment, you get to buy buy buy all the time.

THe differences between what Capcom and what this is, is Capcom charges full price for a game than sells 40 dollars worth of DLC. This is you buy all that you want. If you want everything than you get charged the full price of the game but if you only want certain things like Campaign or MP only you will be charged half price since you won’t be using the other half or want it.
