I don’t have the game and I likely won’t get it, but I noticed they were talking about updates and bug patches. Is the game kinda broken, or is it working decently with a few small overlooked things?
The game certainly isn’t broken. It does have some bugs/disconnect issues, but that’s not unexpected. Yes it’s annoying, but people seem to forget that bugs are normal immediately after launch. Almost every game has them, they’ll be fixed soon enough. It’s definitely not a MCC 2.0.
bugs are normal immediately after launch ??
The game is unplayble dude i pay 60 euro when the game is unfinished.

Yeah, important to note that I’ve only played the Xbox version, which works fine. Idk how the pc version works. Even still, yes bugs are normal immediately after launch. Battlefield 4, while not a bug but still an oversight, had horrible server performance at launch that most people flipped out over. MP was literally unplayable. Then they fixed it and people loved it. This is no different; people will cry uncle until it’s fixed, then they’ll enjoy it. Sure it sucks, but making games is hard -Yoink-. Plus, people have given them, what, 1 week to fix everything? They’ve already said fixing it is their top priority, it just gets old seeing people constantly attack them on the forums when theyre already doing all they can.
The Xbox version too is very buggy from time to time. Even in the campaign.
This one level, The Foundry, either loads like crap and forces me to fully restart the game…OR…it will just freeze up. For instance, in the last minute of the game. Because hey…playing one of the most annoying levels of the game over and over and over again because of some bug is so much fun.
I mean, bugs are common. I remember my first copy of Knight of the Old Republic back in the day completely froze up after completing the first planet for instance. But it seems as if modern Halo games are way more buggy than the Bungie ones…which too had bugs at launch. It’s just sad that after 2-3 years of development you can’t put out a game without such ‘basic’ bugs that should’ve been worked out during playtesting.

Thats odd, my works quite well. I do get the campaign freezing though, which is weird since I managed to play through the whole campaign once before it started happening
In terms of online matches, I only get DC’d about 6% of games (having played a healthy amount of both Blitz and Deathmatch) which hasn’t been too bad. Makes sense that people will have different experiences though.
In response to the second bit, Halo 5 launched quite well, no major issues that I recall, aside from some missing features. MCC was a mess because it was 4 different games made by 2 different companies over the course of a decade trying to be crammed into one release, there was no way it was every going to be a good idea. Is was only supposed to be Halo 2:Anniversary but they screwed up. However, MCC had hundreds of technical issues spanning 4 major games. Halo Wars 2, being mostly developed by a company other than 343, is only 1 game with, as far as I can tell, not more than a couple dozen technical issues. They’re major, to be sure, but still a far more manageable load than the MCC, so I have more faith in them.
Check out this Reddit Post by Sketch who is an official 343 member addressing some of the technical issues in more depth and what they’re doing to fix them, I think people who’re having problems should give it a read. He explains even more in the comments.
Oh! Almost forgot, as far as testing goes, that 343 rep also said that they didn’t encounter the issues during or before the beta, so they have no idea how these issues happend. Probably some tweaks after the beta messed something up. As others have said before me, developers are expected to put out more complicated, robust code in the same amount of time as previous titles in the past… it’s not easy to get right.
Anyone else get their whole army teleported outside map by the shipmaster… But can’t get them back?? Help!!!
Well for my luck when I installed the game it didn’t let me make it past the “press any key” screen and I have no idea how to fix…
