Buggy Gameplay

I was playing some Arena a couple days ago and I realize there is some sort of bug when I play. When I move, it sometimes pushes me back to a point where I was a couple seconds ago. I thought to myself that it probably is just because my controller batteries are low, since it gave me that message. After I changed the batteries, the problem still persisted. It seemed very odd. I lived with it thinking maybe it was just for me, and it was pretty tolerable as it happened once every 3 games or so. Earlier today however, it happened multiple times during the game, and picking up weapons were delayed and buggy. This not only happened to me, but also to my teammate in which I was talking to. Does anybody else have or had this issue?

It happened to me once last night, I believe it is lag or network issues of some sort.

It’s called lag. since the game has dedicated servers, it’s your connection.
I’d be looking into a new router if you lag a lot often.

My network is over 90mbps… I believe this is some sort of problem with xbox live, since my party services aren’t working either…

There has been an issue with Xbox social servers. This means the game servers and Xbox party servers are not working.

Yeah, XBL was actually messing up really badly that day, not to mention the past 3 months.

It must really be your network. 90 Mbps means nothing, that’s bandwidth, or amount of simultaneous information you can send/receive. Ping, latency or whatever you want to call it is the most important thing when playing online, it is the amount of time that that data takes to get to it’s destination.

You must be on a strict NAT or something on your router is blocking or slowing down something, it could also be your WiFi, there could be a lot of interference (Microwave, other WiFi’s, Cordless phones, a lot of walls between your xbox and your router) You can always check your ping at pingtest.net. If in fact it is latency you can always try using an ethernet cable instead of WiFi

What is the best ping to have?

Ive always heard the number 50ms and below are ideal… But im sure that number could be argued a bit… But remember with region lock being off that doesn’t mean you are always going to ping to that server. So it is kind of hit and miss.

The dedicated servers have been a little wacky since the last update. Hopefully Memories of Reach will fix this glitch.
